"Aran do you actually like your girlfriend?"  I asked over the phone. Other than blackmailing eachother, we were good friends.

"Yes I do y/n, anyway I gotta go. Cya" he said then hung up.

I turned off my phone and sighed. It was dinner time but I was so bored.  I hadn't seen Suna much lately, and I was getting worried.

'Ding'

I sat up and checked my phone.

Suna⛓: meet me at river tonight.

How ironic. But if course I was gonna go, I couldn't miss out on this.

-timeskip to dark-

It took me a while to get ready but I'm on my way now, blasting my favorite song through the car windows.

I pulled up to the parking for the river, there was only 1 car there so I thought it would be Suna's.

I got out of the car, pulling my sleeves over my hands. "Damn its freezing." I whispered to myself.

I walked down to the side of the river, although I'm not sure why he wanted to meet at a damn river. Sure it had cliffs, swings and a rapid but still, why here?

I heard rustling behind me, so I turned quickly only to see Suna dressed in swimming trunks. "Why aren't you wearing your swimming gear?" He asked cluelessly.

I shivered at the sight of him in trunks in the freezing cold. "I..didnt know that we were gonna swim." I answered.

He laughed, "We're at a river y/n! Of course were gonna swim!"

I just shook my head. "I dont wanna swim, its too cold. Anyway...why are we out here?" Suna didn't even look like he was listening. Instead he just dived into the freezing depths of the moonlit water.

I took my shoes off and rolled my sweatpants up to my ankles and dipped my feet in. Suna swam up to me and stayed there until he spoke up.

"I heard what happened to you and Kita...I wanted to talk about it with you." He said slowly. I put my hood over my head, "There's nothing to talk about. I'm over him, anyway it's been a while since then."

"You know, it's kinda warm in here. Jump in." He eyed me. "No thanks, you just have fun." I said back, looking away.

He huffed. "I'm gonna jump off that cliff, watch me." He said then swam over to a start of a cliff then started to climb up.

I took this chance to strip of my clothes just leaving my underwear and bra on. When I said I didnt know we were gonna swim, I was serious. But this is a chance for something new.

Suna was at the top by now. "Hey y/n watch this!" He jumped from the cliff and made a massive splash.

I waited a few seconds, but he didnt come up. "Damn it. Suna!? Are you okay!?" I yelled. But he still didnt come up from the water.

I tiptoed into the freezing water, cursing Suna for jumping. He still hadn't come up yet, this was getting serious.

I swam faster to where he was. "Suna!? Stop playing with me! Come up already!" I didn't know what to do since it was dark, so I just swam downwards to try feel for him.

I felt a hand grab my arm and soon we both floated to the top. When we reached the surface I started coughing hard, then looked up to his face.

Suna started laughing randomly, "Hahaha! I got you! You were scared weren't you? You tried to save me."

I was angry, "What the hell!? We could've drowned! Y-youre so.." I started to cry a little. Just the though of losing him made me feel horrible.

Tears started to fall, until he pulled me into a hug. "I was only teasing you, sorry, y/n."

I couldn't believe what was happening. I hugged back with no mercy and the tears stopped, I was so happy.

'Have you fallen for me Rintarou? Hahaha...that's great news' I thought. I'm not holding back, I've fully embraced the fact that I'm a maniac.

After a while of swimming we got out of the water and sorta cuddled beside the water.

"Uh y/n, I um.." Suna started, he looked very nervous. I just looked at him waiting for a response, but then he straitened his back and leaned over. "Y/n, I like you! Will you date me!?"

I sat there in awe. No way that he just asked me out. "Ahhhh.." My heart was about to explode out of my chest. "Yes!" I hugged him so tight, and he hugged back.

Finally. I have what I want. Or rather what I need.

I based this story after a local river I go to. It has waterfalls, cliffs, bridges, swings and ropes, Rapids and a huge clay wall. The photo in the cover is a part of the river.
