Armin x Reader: Don't Die

-Armin's POV-

We have a mission tomorrow and it's not a safe one. We have to go back out to fix Wall Maria. But, (Y/N) is coming and I don't want her to. I don't want to ask her to stay because she might get mad at me.

She's prideful. She doesn't like it when people ask her to stay behind. I should know she punched me once when I did it. We've been friends for years. I met her before I met Eren and Mikasa.

But, I'm in love with her. She's smart, brave, kind, a little shy, but will help anyone even if she's struggling herself. Meanwhile, I'm a giant coward and crybaby.

I ran into Mikasa and Eren. "Hey, guys. Have you seen, (Y/N)?"

"She was looking everywhere for you. You should go find her." Mikasa was quick to tell me.

"Oh, okay. I'll see you guys later." I left quickly to find her. I figured she was in her room since it was already late. "(Y/N)?"

I heard a groan and sleepy voice, "Armin?" I apologized for waking her up and she just smiled and invited me in. "I wanted to talk to you before we leave tomorrow."

I tilted my head slightly as I walked in. "Is something wrong? Do you feel nervous, sick? It's okay if you do." She giggled a bit making me blush slightly. Did I say something stupid? Is there something on my face? "(Y/N), w-why are you laughing?"

She noticed the look on my face, "You're adorable sometimes." That really made my face turn red. Her face turned a bit pink when she realized what she said. "S-sorry." Did she stutter? Since when does she stutter?

"It's okay. It's a compliment." I said. It was awkwardly silent. "You said you wanted to talk."

She flinched slightly and looked away as she turned red. She took a deep breath and walked towards me. She pulled my collar and kissed me. It took me a bit to process what was going on. I placed my hands around her waist.

She pulled away first since we had to breathe. "I didn't see that coming."

She was as red as a beet. She looked so cute, "I... I l-love you a lot."

It was my turn to turn red. "I love you too."

She looked at me with a small smile on her face. "Good. Now, apart from that, there's something else." I tilted my head confused. "I want you to promise me that you'll come back alive, okay?"

My eyes widened a bit when her eyes started tearing up. I wiped them off before they fell. "I promise. I won't leave you alone." I pulled her into a big hug to calm her down.

-The next day; Your POV-

I gave Armin a kiss and we left to join the others. We got our horses and met Erwin at the gate. I was terrified. I love Armin and I don't want to lose somebody else.

We left and I was assigned to go with Eren. Armin was somewhere else and I really wanted to be with him. Don't die. Before long we started getting black smoke signals.

Then we were chased by a female blonde titan into a forest. I didn't want to die before I got the chance to at least go on a date with Armin. We were told to protect Eren. I didn't need that as an order.

When I used my ODM gear to get to her nape she grabbed my hooks and spun me. Before I crashed against a tree and blacked out I heard someone tell my name, "(Y/N)!"

I woke up with a sharp pain in my left leg and arm. I guess I shielded myself from the impact on my left side. I felt bandages around my head and chest. Along with my arms and legs.

I sat up feeling dizzy. "You're awake."

I looked to my right and Armin was there. I felt so relieved knowing he was there. "Hey. I'm glad you kept your promise."

"Well, I do keep my promises. You nearly broke it though. You got lucky." He said his relieved smile turning into a frown. I asked what happened to the others and he sat down next to me. "They're dead. You, Eren, and Levi are the only ones that made it."

My eyes filled with tears. I could've died, they were so young and died I could've joined them. I felt hands on my face wiping my tears. "It's okay, you're okay."

I held his hands and calmed down a bit. "Don't die on me, ever."

He kissed my forehead and smiled, "I won't, you better stay alive too."

"I will." I leaned against his forehead. We were about to kiss when Sasha and Connie interrupted. "Perfect timing." I can't stay mad at those morons. Besides, with Armin, I'm happier than I've ever been.
