Rei x Reader: Study Night

I just wanted to sleep at that point. I have been bored for the last 2 hours being alone in the library. I had a huge test coming up next Friday and I had to study or else I was going to fail. But, I couldn't concentrate in the least.

I got bored and distracted easily. And I was a visual and hands-on learner. Which means my studying is longer than other study methods. I sort of wish I had my mom's photographic memory. It would've made my life a whole lot easier.

That's when he came in, Rei. As much as I wanted to deny it, I had a crush on the smartie pants. He noticed me and waved. I waved back with a smile that yelled 'Help Me.'

He got his books and 5 minutes later he tapped my shoulder. "Do you need help?"

I flinched a bit from the sudden touch. I let out an exhale when I realized it was him. I nodded, "I haven't been able to study in the past 2 hours. I'm going to fail next week." I hit my head against the table.

I heard him sigh, "Why don't I help you study then?" I looked over to him and turned a bit red. I averted my gaze a nodded slightly. I could see a soft smile on his face. He cleared his throat and got up, "Great, my house tomorrow. I'll see you later."

I waved him goodbye. That's when the realization kicked in. HE INVITED ME TO HIS HOUSE!!! I was panicking. I managed to calm down and pack up my things and head home.

I should explain how my crush for Rei of all people came to be. When the year began we ended up in the same class. I was struggling at the beginning and we bumped into each other on the way to the library. Literally. I dropped all of my stuff and our papers got mixed up.

We spent 15 minutes finding out which papers were which. Well, it should've been 15 minutes. We had been talking for 3 hours. He's a very interesting person once you get to know him. We had reading in common which means we could've talked even longer.

We hung out together every night after that. Since he had swimming practice we'd meet up in a public library to hang out. We would read, talk race to see who finished first. It was fun. He was even teaching me how to swim. Well, mostly Nagisa.

He was smart, kind, funny, cute, I just wanted to kiss him so bad. Now I had to learn to deal with it. I had no idea if he liked me back so I tried not to make it obvious. Haru said I was failing miserably it was just Rei was too dense to notice.

It was time to meet up at Rei's house. I was a bit nervous. This is was the first time we saw each other in casual clothes. He would wait for me at the school gate and we'd walk to the public library. I wore (your choice). I hope he doesn't think it's bad.

I knocked at the door. His mom opened up, "Oh, you must be (Y/N). Come in." I bowed a bit and went inside. "Rei should be home in a couple of minutes. I asked to go on some errands." She examined my facial features and body. "Rei wasn't kidding when he said you were beautiful."

I started turning red. I averted my gaze stuttering, "T-thanks."

She smirked a bit, "He talks about you a lot. It's surprising honestly, he's never talked about anyone like he talks about you. It's like he's describing something he loves."

I turned even redder to the point steam was coming out of my ears. Rei came in and saw me as soon as he came in. He had a smile on his face, "(Y/N), I'm glad you could make it." He noticed my face was red and his mother was smirking. His face starting turning red, "Wh-what did my m-mother say th-this time!?"

"I'm gonna g-go upstairs." I just ran upstairs and guessed which room was his. I was correct because he came in a few minutes later. "H-hey."

He nodded slightly and sat next to me, "I apologize for my m-mother she's a bit much."

I giggle a bit, "It's fine. She seems nice aside from the teasing." He gave me a soft smile. "Well let's study." He nodded and we started.

"REI! I'M GOING OUT! I'LL BE BACK IN 40 MINUTES!" His mom yelled from downstairs. Reid yelled back and got back to work. "ALSO, CAREFUL WITH THE BLACKOUTS."

They were building a new house in the neighborhood and sometimes they shut off the electricity. 5 minutes later we had a blackout. "You've got to be kidding me."

I felt something graze my back and jumped back yelling. I fell on Rei who I startled as well. When I use my flashlight it was his jacket. I sighed a bit and realized I was still against Rei. "S-sorry."

We both moved away, "I-it's alright." My phone was dying so I lit a candle. I grabbed a book from Rei's shelves and started reading. He followed suit. He got his blanket and put it over us.

Before we realize it we cuddled into each other reading books. The lights came in after 20 minutes. We looked up at the lights and each other. That's when we noticed how close we were. Our faces turned red and we averted our eyes from each other.

I felt a hand turn my head and I felt lips on mine. My eyes widened when I realized what happened. I was shocked and confused, but I couldn't pull away. I just wanted to stay there and feel the world disappear. I felt my eyes close and I kissed him back without realizing it.

We both pulled away blushing messes, "I like you," Rei was quick to admit.

"I like you too," I admit.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked me.

"Of course," I replied.

Best. Study. Night. Ever.
