Keith x Reader: Once Again

-Keith's POV-

It was a normal day. Hunk was cooking, Allura was talking to her mice, Pidge looking at her computer, Shiro was off somewhere, Lance was probably sleeping or avoiding me, and Coran was checking out castle functions. Usually, I take my free time to train, but I wanted to sleep for a bit.

When I woke up all I heard were alarms and Allura shouting through the speakers. I quickly got up and ran to the front of the castle. "What's going on!?"

Coran got out from under the console, "Sorry, wrong cable."

I rolled my eyes and left. I walked by the training area and decided to train. I had been training for a while when I heard the alarms again. I groaned and ran back to the front of the ship. "Coran!"

Allura and the other paladins were there. We were being attacked by the Galaran fleet. We quickly ran out to our lions and formed Voltron. We used the sword to cut most of the ships. The rest we shot. We ended it rather quickly.

We got back to the castle and I went to sleep again. Recently, I had dreams of (Y/N) appearing again. She was a friend of mine back at the Garrison. She was also my first and only love. We met when I was 10 years old. I got into a lot of trouble and she was the only one who didn't judge me.

She tried to be there for me and be my friend. She'd scold me when I didn't eat, when I missed classes, when I didn't do my homework, when I didn't sleep well. She'd act like a mother which I found adorable.

By the time I was 13 I had fallen in love with her. Then she disappeared when I was 15. One night she left to get some groceries after scolding me for not eating properly. That night she never came back.

I was sick to my stomach for weeks, I couldn't sleep, I didn't eat, I avoided everyone, I'd spend weeks tracking her down. I never found her after 3 years. I thought she was dead, but my gut kept telling me otherwise.

I never stopped searching for her, I just didn't work as hard. I would fall asleep to dreams of me seeing her again and telling her how I feel. Sometimes they'd feel like a lifetime spent together. I pictured us on our first date, when I proposed, our wedding, even kids. I wanted to plan a life with her and she disappeared and I never had the chance.

Shortly after when I was 17 Shiro disappeared. I thought I was going to go insane. I lost the love of my life and my brother.

Until one day. We found a faint distress signal coming from (random planet). We took the lions and went down to get a closer look. We had to leave the lions behind from the dense forests. We looked everywhere for a ship or a person.

I heard Lance on the coms, "I found them-" My eyes widened a bit Lance was cut off and all I heard was static. I yelled through the coms and he still hadn't answered. I ran over to their location. I was the last one there.

I saw a Galran soldier holding a sword to Pidge's neck and I pushed them over. They fell and their helmet broke. All I could see were their eyes and skin. It wasn't purple like the Galra and their eyes looked scared. They had the same eyes as her.

Their eyes widened and I saw a tear run down their face. I panicked a bit and they took off their helmet. I recognized her instantly. "It, it can't be. (Y/N)?" I took a few steps back from the shock.

Lance looked at me, "You know her?"

She smiled a bit, "It's been a while, Keith."

My eyes started to water and I felt tears running down my face. I quickly ran over to hug her. She hugged me back as tight as she could. I didn't want to let her go, I felt as if it was a dream. I was so engulfed in the hug I didn't notice the looks of confusion my teammates were sharing.
