star-crossed lovers

"My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite"

― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

i am no where near Shakespeare
and our story is no tragedy
but poison and happy dagger
are not an end to our love

despite all that fought to keep us apart
we did not succumb to the poison
nor were we seduced by the happy dagger

time spent apart
scared and worried
every minute apart agonizing and long
but we stayed true

many have tested us
and yet they have left
when they realized what we were

we give and take
we protect and nurture
we understand one another
we love deeply and in absolute

and that is how i know
that our love is
as boundless as the sea

a/n: this poem was very much influenced by "Romeo and Juliet" and that is where the reference for the happy dagger and poison comes from. they are not literal and I am using them symbolically.
