Steve was fast asleep since it was a Sunday. And to top it all off, he didn't even have a date for Valentine's Day.
He never really locked his room door in case his parents wanted to wake him.
Nina stood in front of Steve's door, looking at the poster of him from a boxing tournament. It read Suddenly Steve.
She sighed and went in to see Steve fast asleep. She sat on the bed and woke him up.
"Mom?" Steve said, half awake. "What is it?"
"Happy Valentine's Day, Steve," Nina said. "Don't you have a date?"
"Nope..." Steve said, turning to her sleepily. "Well, you definitely do. Where's dad?"
"You know how he sleeps, right?" Nina said with a sigh.
"Oh don't start..." Steve said, sitting up with a sigh. "The way he snores in my face..."
"I actually think he's pretty cute when he sleeps," Nina admitted with chuckle. "Don't you think?"
"Well, he isn't my husband," Steve pointed out. "So what are your plans?"
"Literally nothing..." Nina said with a sigh. "Unless your father has something up his sleeve..."
"Probably not," Steve said with a grin. "But then again..."
"Yakushima," they both said together.
"So yeah," Nina said. "Maybe he does have something up his sleeve. I won't even be surprised if he brings us out on a holiday."
Steve got out of bed and went towards his table. He suddenly took out a wrapped gift and went back to Nina.
"Happy Valentine's Day, mom," Steve said, giving it to her with a smile. "I don't really have a Valentine, so yeah."
"Thanks, Steve," Nina said, hugging her son. "What is it?"
Nina opened it and it revealed to be a bottle of perfume.
"Ah, my favourite perfume," Nina said, looking at the box. "I've been using this since college. Your father actually bought me this for my birthday once, ya know?"
"I know," Steve said with a chuckle. "He told me the story. He forgot about it and actually went too the arcade."
"I remember..." Nina said, annoyed. "He said he was at the dentist..."
Steve started laughing as he remembered how he pictured it.
They was a sudden thud from somewhere, which alerted the mother and son. They both rushed to find the source, only to see that Adam fell off the bed.
And he actually fell asleep on the floor.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Nina said, annoyed. "Steve, you told me that he sleep like a dog, but never told me he was like this!"
"He's the one that slept through makeup, after all," Steve said with a shrug. "Wait. I've got an idea."
He went back to his room and returned with his boombox. He connected his phone via Bluetooth and played the song that Adam loathed.
Out The Window by Edward Van Halen.
Adam almost jumped out the window in shock.
"TURN THAT THING OFF!" Adam shouted, covering his ears. "Steve!"
Steve grinned and did. Nina was laughing so hard that her stomach was hurting.
"What's up?" Adam asked, getting up. "Can't a guy get some sleep?"
"What day is it?" Nina asked.
"Uh... Sunday?" Adam said with a shrug. "What's up?"
"What date is it?" Steve asked.
Adam looked at his phone and gulped. Valentine's Day.
"Oh um... Happy Valentine's Day, Nina," Adam wished. "And to you too, Steve."
"Yeah, thanks," Nina said. "And since we're in Japan..."
She went to her closet and came out with a box of chocolates. Adam's eyes lit up as he reached for it. Nina immediately hid it behind her back.
"Not before you kiss me," Nina said with a smirk. "No kiss, no chocolate."
"Oh yessiree," Adam said, gladly embracing her in a kiss.
Steve promptly left, smiling sheepishly. He decided to go down and make breakfast instead.Jun was still asleep after a tiring night of watching a very good movie on tv. She always found it annoying that they were all showed at night. After midnight.
So she was still asleep, unaware of what's going on in the real world.
All of a sudden, someone stroked her cheek. Jun jumped and the first thing she saw was Kazuya's smiling face.
"Kazuya?" Jun said when she realised that it was only him. "What time is it? You're awake early."
"Why, of course I am," Kazuya said with a grin. "It's Valentine's Day! We didn't get to celebrate properly last year, so why not do it now?"
Jun smiled and turned to her bedside table to take out the box of chocolates she got for him. Seriously, it was really sweet how they still kept the tradition, though they were old. (Not that old, but still... Aww!)
Kazuya smiled and put the chocolate aside. He covered her eyes and led her out of the room.
"What is it, Kazuya?" Jun asked, not knowing where she was taking him. "Where are you taking me?"
"You'll see," Kazuya said.
He brought her to the kitchen and groaned, finally taking his hands off.
The first thing she saw was Jin and Lars sitting on the counter barstool, grinning at them.
"Wait, why are you here?" Kazuya asked, annoyed. "Ugh, way to ruin it, guys..."
They started laughing.
"Oh come on, we'll leave you two alone," Lars said. "All we want is our share of breakfast."
Kazuya rolled his eyes and gave them each a plate.
"Clear out," Kazuya ordered. "Go eat in the dining hall."
They chuckled and left the kitchen together, laughing while singing something along the lines of 'Love is in the air'. They literally just made that up.
Kazuya turned back to Jun.
"I made us breakfast," Kazuya said with a smile. "Special."
Jun sat down on the barstool and looked at the food in front of her.
Heart-shaped pancakes topped with maple syrup, neatly sliced strawberries on the side, and a glass of delicious chocolate smoothie.
"Aww, this is so sweet," Jun said, touched. "All this for me?"
"This is just the start," Kazuya said with a smirk. "The day has just begun!"
"Yeah, it actually begun nine hours ago!" Lars called from the dining hall.
"Oi!" Kazuya shouted back. "Those idiots are actually listening in!"
"Kazuya..." Jun said with a chuckle. "Let's eat first. Wait, I haven't brushed my teeth..."
So she brushed her teeth and rejoined Kazuya. They ate together, enjoying the breakfast.Lars on the other hand had been eating with Jin. His phone started ringing, and turns out it was his android girlfriend.
"It's Alisa," Lars said, getting up. "Probably wants to wish me."
He left the room to attend the call, much to Jin's amusement.
'Well, he got his call, wonder when mine's gonna come...' Jin thought, looking at his silent phone. 'Probably now...'
And he was right.
Her theme from the third tournament suddenly burst out of his phone.
"Xiao..." Jin said with a chuckle.
And Jin was dragged to the ice skating rink again. But this time, he had mastered the skill and was proud of it.Steve sat alone in the living room, watching cheesy romantic comedies since he was bored.
All of a sudden, the doorbell rang.
Confused, Steve went to answer it. From the garden-lined pathway, Steve could see a man waiting at the gates. He looked like a delivery guy.
"Are you Steve Fox?" The man asked. Steve nodded, confused. "Please sign here."
Steve signed, puzzled and opened the gate. The man handed him a large bouquet of roses and chocolates.
"These... these are for me?" Steve asked, confused.
"You're Steve Fox, right?" The delivery guy asked.
"Yeah?" Steve said.
"Then those are for you," the delivery guy said before leaving.
Steve just stared at the bouquet in his hand. Who could've sent it?
Then Snow Castle burst out of his phone. Which could only mean one person.
Shasha.
"Oi!" Shasha greeted as soon as he picked up.
"Oi!" Steve greeted back.
"Did you receive the flowers?" Shasha asked.
"It was you?!" Steve asked in shock.
"Well, yeah," Shasha said with a chuckle. "You thought I wouldn't know that the 'S' that sent me that large Choco Indulge bouquet was you? Steve, you're the lamest if you thought I wouldn't know."
And so it was. He thought it would be nice to send her something for Valentine's Day.
"So you found out..." Steve said sheepishly. "Well, Happy Valentine's Day."
"Well, Happy Valentine's Day to you too," Shasha said with a chuckle. "Whatcha doing?"
They spent hours on the phone, reminiscing the fun times they had together, the good times, Adam's 'surprise' in Yakushima, everything.
Turns out Valentine's Day wasn't so boring for Steve after all.Anna and Lee on the other hand celebrated with their daughter, Tori. Well, that night, they left her under the watchful eye of Combot after she fell asleep and went out on a date together.
Christie and Eddy celebrated too, in their mansion. Tiger promptly left early in the morning to give them privacy.
Even Katarina and Bob celebrated together in Brazil. Cosmo felt glad to find that his daughter was happy with him.
Ace took Fernanda out on a date too. He was doing it more often now, and Fernanda was happy that he changed.
Jax and Jolina apparently had no dates and ended up mocking the cheesy movies being showed on tv. They weren't exactly 'watching' it, more like laughing at it for fun.
Valentine's Day was celebrated all around the world, everywhere. Though there were different cultures, they had this festival in common.
