Somewhere in 1989
Adam had a very eventful day at school.
As soon as he entered the school building, he had to go to the school field for the track meet.
Tired, he only went back to class a few minutes before recess, with his school bag.
"Wait, you came?!" One of only students that didn't take part in the track meet asked. "Why did you come so late?"
"I was here the whole time," Adam said. "I was at the field for the track meet."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about it..." the boy said, scratching his head. "Sorry, Adam, but I wrote your name in the absentees form. You need to go to the office to cross your name out."
"What?!" Adam said, shocked. "Urgh... but I'm tired..."
He put his bag down and dragged himself over to the office and asked the clerk there for the absentees form. He crossed his name out and went back to his class to grab his stuff before going down for recess.

The students came back to class after recess and sat down. The chemistry teacher arrived and dropped a huge bomb.
"I'm gonna give you guys a test to test your strength on Thermochemistry," Miss Yapp said.
The whole class groaned. Some people started panicking because they didn't study at all.
"But Miss Yapp, we didn't even study!" One of the students chimed in. "How do we take the test?"
"Fine, I'll give you fifteen minutes to study," Miss Yapp said. "Quick, study for thermochemistry."
The class took out their books to study.
Adam didn't know what to do. He didn't bring his textbook because the teacher never uses it. How was he gonna study?
He turned around and saw that his friend, Jack, had an extra reference book. He borrowed it and studied as fast as he can.
Not that it helped much.
The test looked as if it was written in Greek instead of English. He groaned a few times while doing the test.
The teacher collected the test answers and the students were complaining about how hard the test was.
"It's a good thing I studied that part in particular," he told his friends. "I think I can get full marks for that particular question."
After that, it was English. Adam's group was the only one that hadn't done their oral presentation. It was mostly because he was always not in class since he was always practicing for the track meet.
He did well during his oral presentation and was pleased to have gotten a good mark.
Then came Biology.
He sat with his group mates, Mel, Jack and Alisa.
"Are you guys done preparing with the presentation I asked you to do last class?" the biology teacher asked. "I want to see it tomorrow, okay?"
"We're done with it right?" Adam asked to which his group mates looked sheepish. "Guys?"
"Umm..." Alisa said, panicking. "We haven't put them together yet..."
"What do we do now?" Mel asked.
"Come over to my place after school," Alisa said. "We'll finish it together."
"Sure," Jack said. "Can I use your phone to tell my dad about it?"
"Sure," Alisa said. "My dad won't mind."
Adam groaned.
"I'll go home first," said Adam. "I left my reference book at home..."
"Alright," Alisa said. "Make sure you come quick."
Adam went home in his motorcycle and got the book he needed. He got himself a snack too. He forgot to take his helmet but didn't really think much of it since Alisa's house was nearby.
He went to the Bosconovitch home and found his friends there, waiting for him.
Each of them had to write one part on the large piece of paper.
Adam did the first part and fell asleep on Alisa's couch. The others didn't really mind because he was done with his part.
Everyone went home and Alisa was gonna go back to her room. It was then when she realised that Adam was still there, fast asleep.
"Adam?" Alisa called, trying to wake him up.
He didn't even stir no matter how much she called him.
She giggled and went up to her room. She came back down with her makeup kit. She wanted to try out some makeup tricks that she learnt on television the day before.
But she wasn't gonna try it on her own face.
She was gonna use Adam's.
Alisa giggled and opened her makeup kit.
She started off with the foundation. She was kinda surprised that he went on sleeping, despite her applying the cold liquid on his face.
This was because one, Adam was a heavy sleeper, and two, he was exhausted. So if you add those two, you get dead asleep...
Alisa even put eyeshadow on his eyelids and was very astonished that he didn't even stir. She also tried really hard to not laugh since Adam was snoring kinda loudly with his mouth wide open.
Alisa finished and giggled as she snapped a picture of him.
'I'll get this developed later,' Alisa thought. 'And then I'll show it to him when we're older.'
Alisa was laughing at what she did while putting her makeup away inside the bag.
"Alisa?" Doctor Bosconovitch said, entering. "What are you doing?"
"Father!" Alisa said, trying to hide Adam's face with her figure. "You're back early!"
"Huh?" The doctor asked, puzzled. "Alisa, my work finishes at five everyday!"
"Oh so it's already five?" Alisa asked, confused.
"It's five thirty, dear," her father replied. "Anyway, what are you doing? Who's sleeping on the couch?"
"It's Adam," Alisa said. "He and a few friends came over to finish a project. Poor Adam... he had a hectic day at school today. He's exhausted, poor guy..."
"Oh okay," the doctor said. "Don't disturb him, Alisa. Let him sleep. He needs the rest."
The doctor went upstairs to his room.
Alisa quickly woke Adam up.
"What time is it?" Adam asked, sitting up and rubbing his eye. "How long did I sleep?"
"Quite long," Alisa said. "You should go. It's five in the evening."
"Golly!" Adam said, quickly getting up. "My mother's gonna kill me!"
"Adam wait!" Alisa called. "You better go wash your face first. You still look... groggy."
"Nah it's okay," Adam said, getting up and running towards the door. "Anyway, thanks for the couch, Alisa!"
He jumped onto his bike and rode home as fast as he could.
His face felt strange but he thought it was just because he fell asleep. His eyelids felt a little heavy too.
While he was riding home, his neighbours were giving him weird stares. One of them, Mrs. Higgins, was so shocked to see him that she didn't see where she was going and walked straight into a pole.
'Gosh, poor Mrs. Higgins...' Adam thought, riding home. 'Why is everyone staring at me? I must look like I just got up from the dead!'
He went home and parked his bike in the porch. He went in and saw his father in the living room, just back from work.
Mr. Wilson looked at Adam in surprise and shock.
"What happened to you?" Mr. Wilson asked. "Did you go for a costume party?"
"Huh?" Adam said, confused. "No... why?"
He just stared after Adam as he went to the kitchen to see what his mother was making for dinner.
"Hey mom," Adam said, opening the fridge to get a drink of orange juice. "What's cookin'?"
"Bangers and Mash," Mrs. Wilson said. "You're back late."
"Yeah I fell asleep at Alisa's," Adam said before drinking some orange juice. "Bangers and Mash sounds great!"
"Yeah I knew you'd love something nice after that track meet and that oral presentation you had," his mother said. "Anyway how did you do?"
"I did great!" Adam said cheerfully. "I won first price in the track meet!"
"Congratulations!" His mother said, turning away from the stove to look at him. "Oh no..."
She stared at Adam in shock, much to his confusion.
"Gracious!" Mrs. Wilson exclaimed. "Adam, what's gotten into you?"
"Huh?" Adam said, confused. "What's gotten into me? Why is everyone weirded out after seeing my face?"
"You don't know?" Mrs. Wilson asked to which Adam shook his head. "Go look at yourself in the mirror."
Puzzled, Adam went to the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror.
He looked at his reflection in shock.
"ALISAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!" Adam shouted in anger.
He left the bathroom, angrily stepping into the living room.
"Where is she?!" Adam demanded, as if his father knew. "WHERE IS SHE?!"
"Where is who?" Mr. Wilson asked, confused.
"Alisa!" Adam said. "She's the one that did this to me! She must've done it while I was asleep!"
"You'll do nothing of the sort until you wash that gunk off your face and have your dinner," Mrs. Wilson said, entering the living room. "Go deal with her tomorrow."
Adam nodded and went back to the bathroom to wash his face.
They had their dinner together.

The next day, Adam went to school and confronted Alisa.
"Why did you do that to me yesterday?" Adam asked her.
"Do what?" Alisa asked innocently.
"Putting that gunk on my face," Adam said. "You know my all neighbours thought I was mad? My parents thought I was mad too!"
"Really?" Alisa said, a little guilty. "Sorry about that, Adam..."
"I'm telling your dad," Adam said, walking back to his place. "I'm gonna tell him about what you did."
"Adam, please!" Alisa exclaimed, panicking. "I'll do anything for you, but please! Don't tell father!"
"I'm still gonna tell," Adam said stubbornly. "I'm gonna snitch on you."
Alisa was panicking but she suddenly got an idea.
"If you tell, I'm gonna show that picture of you in makeup to everyone in school," Alisa blackmailed. "You choose. Shut up and keep your reputation, or snitch and tarnish your reputation."
Adam was stunned. She was using his word against his! How cunning of her...
"Fine..." Adam said, defeated. "But I'll do something."
He didn't want that. He was pretty popular at school and if she showed that picture to everyone, he would be doomed!
He went back to his desk and got an idea.
As soon as he got home, Adam told his mother about what Alisa said. Mrs. Wilson knew Doctor Bosconovitch very well. She knew that he would trust her and do something about Alisa ruining her son's reputation.
"Don't worry, I'll deal with it," his mother said. "Take me to her home."
He rode her there with his bike.
The doctor was home that day because he had to run an errand.
"Doctor Bosconovitch," Mrs. Wilson began. "I want to have a word with you."
"What is it, Mrs. Wilson?" The doctor asked.
"It's about your daughter," Mrs. Wilson said. "She did something bad to my son."
"What did she do?" The doctor asked, surprised. "I'm sure she did nothing bad to him."
Mrs Wilson told the doctor about what Alisa did to him. Doctor Bosconovitch was shocked.
"I'm very sorry, Mrs. Wilson, Adam," the doctor apologised. "Is there anything I could do?"
"I'm home!" Alisa said, arriving home after collecting the developed photo of Adam.
She stepped into the living room and was surprised to see Adam and his mother there with her disappointed father.
"H-Hey Adam...!" Alisa said in a quivering voice. "What brings you here?"
"I told your father everything about what you did to my son," Mrs. Wilson said, crossing her arms. "Now apologise!"
"Sorry Adam!" Alisa quickly said. "I won't show the photo to anyone!"
"Good," Doctor Bosconovitch said. "And Adam? Sorry for the trouble my daughter caused you. To make up for it, I'll take you out for a joyride this Saturday. How does it sound?"
"Just say yes," Mrs. Wilson whispered to Adam.
"Yes!" Adam agreed excitedly. "Thanks, Doctor B!"
"Alright," Doctor Bosconovitch said. "Alisa, go back to your room. I wanna have a word with you later."
Alisa gulped but nodded and ran up to her room.
"I guess we should be going, Doctor Bosconovitch," Mrs. Wilson said. "We haven't even had our lunch yet."
They bid their farewell and left.
Doctor Bosconovitch sighed and went upstairs to Alisa's room.
Alisa was scared, waiting for her doom.
"Alisa?" The doctor said, entering his daughter's room.
"F-Father?" Alisa said fearfully.
"Why did you do that?" Doctor Bosconovitch asked.
"I only did it for fun," Alisa said. "But when he said he was gonna tell you, I panicked and threatened him."
"So that's what this was all about," Doctor Bosconovitch said with a laugh. "You could've told me earlier right?"
"Yeah..." Alisa said guiltily. "But I did try to make Adam wash his face but he didn't listen."
"Never mind that, now," the doctor said. "Go take a shower. I'm almost done making lunch."
"Okay, father," Alisa said, relieved.
She heaved a sigh of relief as soon as her father left her room.
Alisa looked at the envelope with Adam's silly picture in it. She laughed as she remembered how he did not even stir when she put all that makeup on his face.
She decided to not gonna show the photo to anyone.
But she was gonna keep it. As a memory of the fun she had during her carefree high school years.
She would cherish those memories she had during her years in high school.
'Adam would probably laugh at himself when he sees this photo in the future,' Alisa thought with a laugh. 'I'll keep it forever.'
