"People like us shouldn't exist in this world."
"Such pathetic words, Kazama Jin."
The father and son engaged in battle, fuelled by the raging blood running in their veins.
"This ends now," Jin Kazama uttered, aiming a powerful blow right at his father's face.
Kazuya Mishima smirked and merely tilted his head to dodge it, aiming a punch just as his son had done. The younger one wasn't any less skilful, tilting his head all the same.
"You pathetic child," Kazuya sneered as he performed his signature Electric Wind God Fist. "I'll reclaim what's mine!"
Jin was thrown back by the attack. He looked up to see Kazuya flying at him with a kick called Hell Lancer and quickly rolled away to dodge. The older man hit a rock instead, busting it up into smouldering fragments as Jin rolled off to the side and got onto his feet. The next thing Kazuya knew, He was getting the High Right Roundhouse to his face.
Kazuya almost lost his balance, staggering backwards. He held onto the pained spot and frowned before assuming his stance again. He turned to his son and motioned for him to come at him. Jin looked a little dazed, staring ahead of him and seemingly not paying attention. It was the perfect opportunity to catch him off guard and he took it by running straight at him with a punch aimed at his torso.
Jin quickly blocked it, though he wasn't looking. Kazuya continuously attacked him but his son simply blocked or dodged. Every single one of them.
"What, you've surrendered?" Kazuya smirked, not giving up on trying to defeat him.
Jin pushed him to the side as if he was in the way of something, no longer important enough to fight. Kazuya was baffled, turning around to see him with a confused expression.
To his surprise, Jin's attention was turned to someone else, someone very familiar to himself as well.
"Mom?" Jin murmured in surprise.
A person, with a form very much like Jun Kazama, stood before him, eyes closed and wearing a tattered brown dress that seemed to have been made of animal skins.
"Jun...?" Kazuya found himself murmuring too. But then he shrugged. "Ah, what the heck. Look who's finally back."
Jin ignored him and slowly went towards her. He touched her bare shoulder and her eyes immediately shot open. Jin gasped, seeing how her once warm chocolate brown eyes were a glowing shade of yellow.
"Mo-Mom?" Jin called, concerned for her. "What happened to you?"
A glowing mark appeared on her right forearm, the same mark that was on his left. Jun, or at least the thing that possessed her, drew her arm upwards and materialised a giant slimy hand, crashing it onto Jin. The young man stared at it in shock, rooted to the ground as it came down on him. Kazuya quickly lunged at him, pushing him to the side milliseconds before it could touch him, but Jin merely pushed him off.
"Mom! It's me!" Jin tried again, getting onto his feet. "It's me! Your son! Kazama Jin!"
Jun hunched forward, bending her knees as she twisted her arms around her. The two men watched in surprise as she suddenly let out a distorted exclamation before turning to run.
"Mom!" Jin exclaimed, running after her.
Kazuya groaned, being left out. All he wanted to do was to fight Jin and show him how pathetic he was.
And now this.
A shocking discovery.
He frowned and looked at the volcanic rocks around him, red lava bursting out of them and splattering like they were shards of the sun itself.
Kazuya transformed into his Devil Form and flew after them.Jin ran after his mother, running down the volcanic mountain and down to a dense forest. They passed tree after tree, bush after bush, going deeper and deeper into the jungle.
Jin suddenly fell over a fallen tree, rolling off the track. He quickly sprang up to his feet and tried to see where his mother had gone, ignoring the mud on his bare torso.
"Mom!" Jin called, unable to spot her. "Mom, where are you?"
He got no reply. Jin tried to spot Jun among the trees but there was no trace of her.
The flapping of wings sounded above him. "Kazama Jin, she's over there!"
Jin looked up to see a purple figure hovering above him, big bat-like wings fluttering behind it. It was his father, transformed into his Devil Form so that he could fly. He pointed into the distance, his eyes evidently trailing Jun, then flew off.
Jin nodded and awakened his Devil Gene too, flying towards where Kazuya went. He spotted the older man rushing to a certain spot and followed him. Kazuya suddenly dove straight among the trees and Jin followed suit.
Jin landed in the middle of the forest and ran on foot to see where Kazuya had gone. He soon found him, together with Jun.
Kazuya held Jun by the shoulders, shaking her as he spoke. Jin was stunned, he had never seen Kazuya act like this. Only moments prior did he try to defeat him and retrieve what's his.
The worry was clear in his face as he tried to get Jun to snap out of whatever that consumed her. Jin noticed the glowing Devil tattoo on her forearm. He ran to them and touched the mark, confused at how she even got it on her.
Jun gasped her eyes rolling back as she collapsed into Kazuya's arms. He got onto the ground and held her against his lap.
"Jun, what's gotten into you?" Kazuya yelled, trying to shake her awake.
He hoisted her into his arms and got up. Jin stood, rooted to the ground as Kazuya gently held her, making sure that he wasn't crushing her. He suddenly turned to Jin, who still looked confused, and yelled to him.
"What are you waiting for, we need to help her!"
Jin nodded and flapped his feathered wings just as Kazuya did. The two flew right back into the city.
