                  RED DESERT
                    ~~~°°°~~~
The air carried a strange odor with it, it wasn't bad, but Mary wouldn't say she enjoyed it either. It reminded Mary of the scented candles in the Catholic Church, said to pursue evil spirits, the first time it had found it's way through her nostrils, she had a strong urge to puke out her guts and it did really 'pursue' her.
"I'm gonna puke," she muttered as she glanced at Ikechukwu.
He stared at her for awhile before his eyes widened in shock and disbelief. "I remember you! Y-y-you are the lady from the market. You-Oh my God, what have I landed myself into."
She sneered at him. "Will you let me think, I don't want to be in this place also." She looked round the desert. "Where do I even go from here."
"Where are we going from here?" Ikechukwu corrected, wondering if she had forgotten about him.
"I don't know," she eyed him. "Stupid." She added. Ikechukwu bit his lips, to hold back the words that threaten to spill from his lips. The last time he had freaked out, Mary had sent him into a deep sleep and he didn't want that again. "Follow me," she said and started walking away, not looking back to see if he was actually following, which he was, in fact, he followed really close.
"So, are you going to show your face now?" Mary shouted to no one in particular. "Why did you bring me here?" Her eyes traveled to Ikechukwu. "Why did you bring him here too?"
Few feet before them the wind carried the dust up, and with a great speed, it hit them in the face. Mary seemed unaffected by this, but Ikechukwu was thrown in a fit of coughs.
"Fuck!" He cursed, as he rubbed at his eyes furiously.
"OK, that's it," Mary muttered. She turned to face Ikechukwu. "Let's get out of here."
That's not going to happen! A voice thundered and suddenly, a creature appeared before them.
"Obara Jesus!" Ikechukwu shouted and ran to hide behind Mary. She still scare him, but he always heard the saying 'The Demon you know is better than the demon you don't know."
"John?" Mary called. "I thought I killed you last year?"
John was a six feet seven humanoid being. He was your definition of a nightmare. His skin was a burnt black and a huge scar ran from his face down to his chest. His eyes were black and beady like the street rats, Ikechukwu couldn't see any nose on his face. Fire crowned his head like hairs, his claws were sharp and long and surprisingly, pure white, though the tip were blood red.
"After the fight I woke up lost in Limbo, you stole my heart and my wings, and I thought that was the end, but then the god Erasnus visited me-"
"Erasnus?" Mary raised an eyebrow. "Didn't I also kill him? What's this, a reunion showdown?"
His nose flared with anger, his eyes glowing a bright ember. Ikechukwu squeezed his eyes tight like it would save him from the impending doom he knew was coming, Mary sighed and rolled her eyes at this.
Pathetic.
"Well." she smiled at him, "it's nice to see the little home you've created for yourself." She glanced round the red land and cringed.
"Home!" He thundered making Ikechukwu jump in fear. "You call this my home? This is a fucking prison."
Mary scrunched her nose up in disgust at the gut wrenching odour that came from his mouth. "Oh wow," she muttered and gave a small sneeze.
"For months, I have been trying to get out of this stupid place Erasnus deceived and trapped me in-"
"Hold on, your story is quite confusing, I thought Erasnus visited you to help you?"
"That's what I thought before he stole my horns and disappeared, the bastard!"
"Wow," Mary shook her head. "Stealing? That's just shameful for a god."
"You stole my wings and heart!"
"I am not a god and that was a defensive move, you were going to kill me. Anyways, you haven't answered my question, why did you bring me here?"
He kept quiet for awhile then his eyes moved to Ikechukwu. "You were not my target at first." Mary raised an eyebrow when she heard that. "I was after the virgin."
"Excuse me?"
"Who is the virgin?" Ikechukwu whispered to Mary clueless of what was going on.
Mary took a small step forward. "The virgin is mine." she declared. "I found him first."
John twisted his neck left and right, the action emitting a cracking sound. "I need the virgin, he's my ticket out of here. As for you, well, the rule is one demon has to be left behind."
Mary frowned. "What do you mean?"
He took another step forward. "What I mean is, when I am gone, you're going to be stuck here forever."
"You are going to regret this John and don't worry, I won't use my powers on you." With a loud roar he lifted himself up the ground. Ikechukwu screamed and ran away, while Mary changed her stance ready for battle.
John landed just right in front of Mary, the force pushing her few feet back. She gave a loud hiss, turning into her demon self immediately, her eyes were black, with little horns now poking out from under her hair. She swirled around, a big hammer appearing in her right arm, with this she swung hard at John's face.
He easily dodged this and whipped his tail across her back, Mary groaned as this dug into her flesh, tearing her skin. John chuckled and delivered a heavy blow kicking few feet back.
Mary coughed and sprang up on her feet, this time her wings were out, each feather bearing blades on both wings. She rushed towards him, turning to her side as she dodged the punch John had aimed for her jaw, she arched her wings forward, slashing his wings with her blades. He groaned and double forward.
Mary smirked, not giving him any chance to recover, she swung her hammer hard, hitting the side of his head, she attacked again, going for the back of his neck, then last aim went to his dick. John gave a painful howl as he went on his knees, holding tight to his balls.
She turned to Ikechukwu who stood in shock at the small battle he had just seen. "Don't just stand there, come let's get out of here!"
She closed her eyes and started some incantations, Ikechukwu stared bewildered before he ran to her.
"This isn't over Mary!" John shouted as he tried to crawl over to her.
With stopping her incantation, she gave him the finger. The wind spiralled round her and Ikechukwu and right above them, a small portal appeared.
"Even if you leave here, you will never find your way home!" John shouted. "I sent the message, they will come for you. "
"Bye John!" Mary shouted in a singsong voice before grabbing Ikechukwu hands. Together they left the red desert.
"Fuck you!" John cried.
