( TW: PTSD, Death, Blood)

I once heard of a lady who was strong and bold

She lived in a house and was quite old

She had no doors inside the house

A snake could have come in or even a mouse

She wasn't sad but barely talked

She liked to watch people but never stalked

People said she was weird, strange and a know-it-all

But I heard of a story behind it all

When the lady was young, a small, short child

Her mother died and her father's life was vital

Her father's heart, broken in two

Left a depression creeping throughout the room

He grabbed a gun in his hand

Said " I love you" as his final command

Closed the door and locked it tight

The young girl cried, full of confusion and fright

She heard a bang and all of her fear

Began to grow as blood soon appeared

Her door was the enemy, who locked her out

She couldn't stop him and she couldn't shout

It all happened so fast and then she grew up

Took all of the doors down to forget the cut

That grew deep in her heart, with her parents now past

She tries to be happy with her barriers of glass
