Chapter 22

So I want to reveal the inspirations for not just the characters from the last chapter, but all my O.C.s. And D.O.C./ The O.P.C.C.C.

Namae- Namae didn't really have any inspiration. She was meant to be a generic government agent that only made one appearance and never showed up again, but I was having trouble coming up with a name for her. Eventually, I gave up and literally named her "Lazy Name" as a joke. Then I decided to model her personality off of that.

D.O.C./The O.P.C.C.C.- D.O.C. was also only meant to make a one-shot appearance, as a way to explain why Izuku got custody over Eri rather than literally anyone else. However, this was such a good explanation that I decided to increase their role in the story significantly. The reason for their original stupid name is the same reason as Namae, I got frustrated and gave up.

Kei- Kei is obviously based off of Medusa. Most of her favorite foods are things that snakes enjoy eating.

Kiba- Kiba is obviously based on a vampire. Her over dramatic personality comes from the way I like to parody overly serious overdramatic vampires. Her love of foods with the color red added to them is a reference to Marceline from adventure time.

Sansan- I was watching youtube one day and one of the YouTubers had a slime girl in their intro. I said "boy, slime girls are cute, I want one in my story" however a slime girl wasn't really all that inherently dangerous. So I turned her slime to acid and tada! Sansan was born!

Kioku- Kioku came into existence while I was brainstorming ideas for more kids. She has no real inspiration, but I just liked the idea of a little girl breaking into Izuku's house and trying to forcibly join the family.

Shiruku- So when I was writing this story a lot of people thought I got inspiration from Monster Musume. I did not. I did watch Monster Musume but that was a long time ago so it never came to mind until you guys started talking about. However after you brought it up, I decided to look there for more inspiration for the children, and I really liked the idea of having a spider girl in the story. Funny thing though, the number of her eyes and the way they're placed are actually based off of Muffet from Undertale.

Yami- Say what you want about RWBY. But it has some really cool ideas and designs. The Grimm in particular are really, really cool. I'd been wanting to have a story about Izuku with a Grimm spawning/controlling quirk, but I didn't have the time. So I made Yami. Why did I make Yami a boy instead of a loli Salem? Because I needed to even out the male to female ratio. Yeah, I'm just gonna be blunt here, this whole story is kind of a byproduct of my own desire to protect and spoil my younger sister(whom I unfortunately rarely ever see) so I tend to make more of the kid's girls as a result of that.

Kai-Despite what people may think, Kai was not really based off of King Ghidorah. He's just a basic Hydra with wings. I really just wanted a giant monster kid, but MHA already has a Godzilla rid-off and a dragon so I had to get creative. I was originally gonna give him some kind of breath attack, but I thought that might be a bit too O.P. so I gave him poison blood to match the Hydra theme.

Otoko- Otoko is based on Marvel's Man-Thing. Not much else to it.

Fukunoko. Fukunoko is based on two characters. Her quirk is obviously based off of Scarecrow. But her appearance and personality are heavily based on Bernadetta from Fire Emblem Three Houses. Why Bernadetta? Because one, I love (Modern) Fire Emblem(nothing against the old games(old as in pre Awakening) just not my thing.). In fact, the only other fic I ever published that was not an MHA fic, was a Fire Emblem Fates fanfic...which I later deleted because oh my god the cringe(most of my early works were just...so, so bad.). And secondly, Bernadetta is my favorite Fire Emblem character as well as one of my favorite fictional characters in general. Now you might ask, why would I give a Bernadetta character a fear gas quirk instead of a quirk based off of one of Bernadetta's actual abilities? Well I tried that but I couldn't think of anything, so I gave her fear gas because I was going to make a fear gas character anyway, and having a fear-based power seems fitting for a Bernadetta-like character. Also, her name is the most intricate I've ever gotten with a character name.
