It took an hour to get on my plane. Once on I found my seat. I was next to the walkway. Next to me was an elderly couple. After a two hour flight we land in Leadville.
I almost get arrested in the terminal because of my scar but I pass it off as a tattoo which gets me out free. I stand outside the airport for a few seconds when a white SUV pulls up and Jason gets out.
I run up and hug him. The sunlight shows a few grays in his sand colored hair. "Claire, it’s good to see you. You've grown. And I can tell that you and your wolf are closer now."
I smile at him. He leads me to the SUV. I load up in the back and he takes the passenger seat up front. There's a young lady driving. Before I can introduce myself she interrupts my thoughts, "I'm Jessie if you haven't noticed, Shorty. And yes I'm still annoyed with you over our 'little chat'. And seeing that I am Luna and that Jason is my sweet old Beta I'm the one in charge around here. Just be glad that I let Jason do his job."
Jason laughed at this. "Jessie we both know that you’re the Luna but we also know that I'm head till we have another Alpha. Austin left me in charge in his will. I think it’s me who lets you do your job. But knowing you I'll just shut up."
Jessie gave him the evil eye and smacked him in the head. I couldn't help but to laugh.
We pulled into a long and bumpy driveway. If it weren't for my seat belt, I'd be thrown all over the SUV. We came to a halt as we came up to a large 3 story house.
It was painted brown and green like the trees around it. The windows were open and a few children ran around the house playing tag. I jumped out of the truck and looked around. There were multiple houses built in a semi-circle around the clearing. But the house in front of us was the largest. Children ran from house to house. Mothers chased toddlers and men walked together talking about attack formations.
There were also wolf pups playing on porches. The pups each had collars like they were pets. I mother wolf growled at a curios male and he almost had his ear bit off. It was an amazing to see wolves and their shifting cousins living together. I turn to Jason as he leads us into the main house. "Jason how is it there are true wolves here? I didn't think that they'd enjoy the human contact?"
Jason laughed, "Ha, Were werewolves, they don't see us as humans. They view us as family. That’s as long as we feed them anyways. There isn't many herds in the area so by feeding our cousins they offer extra protection and companionship. Their young wear collars so that they can be watched over easily by their mothers and by the pack members."
"Oh, well that's amazing." He go into the house and shows me to my room. It's large with a queen sized bed, a small closet, a dresser, and an vanity dresser. The rooms color scheme was black and white. It was a nice room.
Jason left telling me that this would be my permanent room here. I nodd and unpack my stuff. I pull out a dresser drawer to find it filled with clothes in my size. I run to the closet and find it filled as well. Wow, Jason was prepared for me to move in.
I look through the clothes. They are all my style and in a rainbow of colors. I go back to my travel clothes. Their stained and torn. I throw them all away and change in to a short black and white skirt and a white tank top with a black over shirt. I put my phone on my vanity with my brush and other stuff.
I leave my room and head to the living room. A young kid sat on the couch. Jason was on the phone and sounded pissed. Jessie handed the kid a ice pack. He took it and pressed it against a black eye.
He had black hair that went in every direction, green blue eyes, and he was covered in bruises from head to toe. He was very small and seemed like a child but the air around him says that he was older then he appeared.
