Epilogue – 7 years later

Sarah shifted for the first time when she turned 5. I walk through the forest calling for her. She runs up in her pup and runs around me. I have her follow me home.

We enter the house and she runs up to her room. When she comes back she is dressed in a green dress that matches her current eye color. Her eyes like to change color every few days.

Jason greets me as he enters the house. Behind him is Dr. Johns. They are here to check on Jay. Jayden has become ill recently and nearly puked during the family photo. Johns says that it’s a simple flu. Sarah seems immune to illness because she has never gotten sick.

Jason picks up Sarah and kisses her. “How is my favorite granddaughter doing?”

Sarah laughs. “Just fine, Papa. I’m your only granddaughter!”

Jason laughs and puts Sarah down. She runs up to her room. I hug Jason. “How are you? The Blood pack and Coda still doing ok?”

Jason nodds. “For a 10 year old, he is a very smart Alpha. Jessie only handles the paperwork and arguments. Coda is very persuasive and mature for his young age.”

I nodd. Johns comes back from one of the rooms. “Alpha Jayden seems to be recovering. He may need more rest and I gave him a dose of medicine. I’ll come back in a few days to check on him. If he starts feeling sick again, call me.”

Johns leaves and I head to the room. Jay lays in bed asleep. He is pale and thin. The flu has kept him from keeping any food down. He has lost weight.

Sarah came from behind me and crawled into bed with Jay. She curled up next to him. “Mommy, When if Daddy going to feel better?”

I sighed. “Daddy should be better in a few days. He is sick. Don’t worry baby. He will be fine.”

Sarah nodded.

A few weeks later Jay recovers and we learn that Lisa is pregnant with a boy. Elliot is enthusiastic about it. The packs are at peace and things are as they should be.
