As I look through a magazine at a newspaper stand in front of my hotel I notice that there’s a guy across the street staring at me. He's the same one that been following me since I left New York.

I start to worry if he's noticed how quickly I've gone from Rochester, NY to Columbus, Ohio. It only took me two weeks to get here. Seeing that I left Fowler and got to Rochester in a week with just walking. and from there to Ohio in a week with my wolf form.

I don't understand how he's followed me from Rochester. I've traveled in my wolf the most and have avoided towns during that time. And I have yet to encounter any other wolves. A bear and 3 Pumas but otherwise I've been alone.

You'd think that there would be more wolves up here in the north. I guess I'll just have to keep traveling west towards North Dakota. But first I've got to lose this guy on my tail. I turn to go back to my hotel room and out of the corner of my eye I watch the man turn and leave as well.

Sighing I go in and go up to my room. Once inside I grab my phone and check for missed calls. One is from May. I dial her number and Wait for her to pick up. On the third ring I hear her, "Hello? This is May's phone."

"May it's me. What can't wait for me to call tonight?" I huff and settle on the silk sheets of the bed. "Oh it's you Claire. I was calling cause mom was wondering why you haven't called since Rochester. She said that you had gotten there quickly so you should call in a few days. But it’s been a week."

"May I can't call when I'm running. My wolf can't hold a phone and I've been trying to get somewhere that there will be wolves. And I’m nowhere near Rochester. I'm in Columbus now."

May gasps can be heard right before she yells across the house that I'm in Ohio now. Irritated, I growl over the phone, "May do you really have to announce where I'm at? Its bed enough that a guy has followed me somehow and I have a bad feeling about him."

May gasps again, "Oh my GOD, your being followed? How? Aren't you traveling as a wolf?"

"Yes, of course I'm traveling in my wolf. And how am I supposed to know how? I don't know that guy. I just know that i crashed in to him as a store in Rochester and somehow I saw him outside my hotel watching me a few moments ago. He's totally creepy and has that hungry look that those kidnappers have."

I hear the sounds of the creaky stairs and then a door slam in the back ground, "Well excuse me, I was just curious about my 'little' sister. And I would lose him as soon as possible." I heard a door bell in the back ground. "I'll call tomorrow night, Bye Claire, and loose the creep."

She hung up then and I put my phone down. A sudden feeling of unease crept over me. The hair on the back of my hair stood up and my inner wolf whimpered. I got up and locked the door and made sure the windows were locked. I sat back on the bed and tried to relax. It took about 20 min for the feeling to leave.

Finally I was able to relax. I noticed my bag on the desk chair. It was open. I got up and looked through my bag but everything was there. I got my wallet out and look through it too. Everything there, but a white card stick out of one of the extra pockets.

I pulled it out. It was that card from that Jason guy who visited the day I left home. I looked at the back and the paw print was still there. Maybe I should call about this 'beta' thing. Sounds kinda wolf-ish.

I dial the number, and it rings a few times then goes to voicemail, "This is Jason Wild's phone. If it concerns Wolf matters please call my private number by pressing 9. Leave a message otherwise." I pressed 9 and the holding music came on. Figures that I'd be on hold. Huffing I set the phone on speaker and placed in on the night stand as I got my coke from the mini fridge.
