"Adalyn. It was so nice to meet you. I'm glad Axel met a girl as nice and beautiful as you."
I shyly smiled at Lavender. I knew my cheeks were pink due to the compliment she had gifted me.

I honestly didn't expect Axel's parents to be so nice and comfortable to be around. Lavender was such a wonderful and genuine person and I knew she was an amazing mum too.

Carlos, despite his large and intimidating appearance, was a funny and carefree man and his relationship with Axel was so wholesome to see.

The way he and Lavender acted with each other was a type of relationship I dreamed of. It's clear they both had an undying strong love  for each other and it was the cutest thing to see.

They both made me laugh and feel comfortable within their presence and I completely forgot that these were Axel's parents. They made me feel as if I had known them my whole life.

It was just so unreal.

"Thank you Lavender. It was so nice to meet you too."
She pulled me into a hug and patted my back. I hugged her back and smiled knowing she didn't hate me.

"I hope to see you at the ball next week. You know what, how about you come shopping with me and my daughter on Wednesday. Two days before"
She pulled away from me and I looked at her strangely.

"I don't exactly know what you're talking about."
Her eyes widened and Axel pulled me to him quickly causing my head to go fuzzy.

"Ma. I haven't asked her yet."
Lavender but her lip and sent Axel an apologetic look.

"Sorry son. Adalyn how about we just forget I said anything and when Axel tells you pretend you know nothing about what he's on about. I do that with a lot of Carlos' surprises."

Carlos' eyes widened and he stared down at her with wide eyes.
"You do?"

Lavender turned to him and shrugged her shoulders.
"Our daughter isn't exactly the best at keeping secrets baby."

Carlos scratched the back of his neck and I heard Axel laugh behind me. I looked up at him and he looked back down at me before placing a light kiss on my lips.

My cheeks turned pink and I quickly looked away from him and to his parents.

I saw Lavender look at the two of us before turning her head to Carlos slightly. He winked at her and her cheeks turned red too before quickly turning back to look at me and Axel.
"I-er-I hope you two have a good rest of your night."

I giggled at Lavender's now flustered state and Carlos just smirks before shrugging his shoulders at me.

I liked him.
