Chapter 13

~ Kamryn ~

After finally finishing up in Wal-Mart, I wanted to go look around. I haven't been shopping at all since I've been here so why not do it now.

I went over to the car fist to chuck the groceries in because no way was I lugging around 9 bags of potato chips and soda.

I locked up the car and head to my first shop, well it wasn't really a shop more like a little market selling cute clothes. There aren't many actual shops here but they do have a whole road blocked off for a small market type thing.

As I was walking down through the shops I saw a couple making out. I rolled my eyes and looked away.

"Seriously get a room," I mumbled to myself as I walked past them. I think I said it a bit too loud because I heard them stop. I kept my head down and walked straight ahead.

"Kamryn?" I heard my name being called; I turned around to the direction it was coming from and my eyes landed on the couple making out against the wall. My eyes widened and filled with tears as the face of the guy finally came to view.

"Jack?!" My hands were trembling and I was using all my strength to stay standing.

"How could you?" I asked. Everything went blurry as my eyes began to fill with tears.

"Kamryn please let me explain" Jack said walking over to me.

I shook my head walking backwards. I shook my head again in disbelief. Why would Jack do this to me, I thought I could trust him, but no he's just like everyone else in my life.

He left me. I know what it's like to feel rejected, unwanted but this really hit me hard.

"There's no need to explain Jack, we're over" I said, just loud enough for Jack to here. Jack's hands fell limp at his sides and he turned away.

I ran to my car jumping in, once I was in the safety of the car I let the tears fall. I put the key in the ignition and made my way back to the cabin.

When I got to the cabin I ran inside and straight upstairs ignoring the guys when they tried to say 'hi'.

I ran into my room slamming the door and jumping in my bed. I haven't been in my own bed since I started dating Jack; I always shared a bed with him. Thinking back on it, it must have been really awkward for Shawn.

Not even a minute later there was a knock at the door; I stayed silent really not wanting to talk to one of the boys about this.

If I were to talk to one of the boys it would probably be Shawn.

But Shawn hates me at the moment so it doesn't really matter. I'll just wait to go home and talk to Sidney.

I heard my door creak open and realised I didn't lock it when I came in. I mentally face palmed my self and sunk deeper into my bed sheets and closing my eyes.

I felt the end of the bed sink a bit and I opened one eye a little to see who it was. My eyes started to water again when I saw who it was.

It was Shawn... I sat up and wiped the new-formed tears away, before looking at Shawn.

"Hey" I whispered.

"Hi" Shawn said back, wow this was actually kind of awkward. This was the most we had said to each other in 2 weeks.

"What's wrong?" Shawn asked, finally breaking the awkward silence. I let out a long sigh.

"Well, where to start" I said letting out a small laugh.

"Um well when I went down to the shops I was going to pay when I saw Jack but I didn't know if it was him or not so I followed him and he was with some girl and she came up to me and told me to stay away from him and Jack didn't defend me, so I got angry..." I couldn't even finish my sentence before dissolving into tears.

Shawn done the one thing that I didn't expect, he moved closer to me and wrapped his arms around me, stroking my hair.

"It's okay, calm down, you'll be fine" he cooed. It reminded me of when he came to see me after what happened with my dad.

Once I had composed myself I sat up and began to talk again.

"He apologised and me being the naive idiot I am, forgave him. He got a text and he had to run off, after he left I decided to shop for a little bit. I was walking through the markets when I saw a couple making out..." I saw Shawn's face softened and I knew right then that he knew what was going to happen.

"I mumbled get a room but they heard and I heard my name being called, I turned around and saw Jack and the girl from the shops" I said starting to cry. Shawn engulfed me into a hug.

When we pulled away I saw a few tears falling from Shawn's eyes. I wiped them away with my thumb and he smiled at me.

"I'm sorry" He whispered.

"It's okay, it wasn't your fault. I should've known he had been acting weird for a few days now" I said with a sigh.

"Not only for that, for snapping at you I didn't mean to, I just want to protect you..." Shawn said trailing off at the last bit.

I looked up at him and smiled.

"I'm sorry too, I do care about you Shawn, it was just the heat of the moment, I didn't mean it" I apologised; Shawn smiled and gave me a hug.

"You better go downstairs, you're going to miss your movie night" I said to Shawn, I heard Shawn chuckle from beside me.

"Are you going to come down?" he asked, I just shook my head.

"Then neither am I, I'll stay up here with you" Shawn said, kissing my forehead. I smiled and we snuggled up.

I fell asleep in the safety of Shawn's arms.
