He walked up the staircase of his girlfriend's house and knocked on the door. It took a moment but when the door did open, her hair was wrapped in a towel and she had no makeup on her face.
"Hey, what's up?"
"You wanted to talk." Raph responded.
"And you hung up on me." Allie growled.
"It was ten o'clock at night and I was tired. My brothers were listening and I wasn't in the mood to argue with you in front of them."
"So, what? You came here to pick a fight today?"
"I came here to talk to you, like adults."
"About what? We've already talked. I don't want you giving up your dreams and I'm not giving up mine. So this is something we need to figure out."
"See, there you go again."
"With what!?" Allie snapped as she turned around and pulled her hair out of the towel, letting her boyfriend in the house.
"You're trying to guilt trip me! You want me to feel bad for you!"
"No, I don't." Allie scoffed. "I want you to follow your dreams, we knew this was going to happen, Raph!"
"No, I knew this was going to happen! You had some weird fantasy where we were going to last forever! That I was going to sacrifice everything for you!"
"Do you think that I want to watch the man I love leave me and be surrounded by models and hot women. All that temptation to cheat while I'm in redneck country!?"
"Do you really think that I'd cheat on you!?"
"There's temptation, Raph! You're muscular and toned, you're hot!"
"So that must mean I'm some douchebag, right!?" Raphael snapped. "The asshole that cheats on his girlfriend with some slut!?"
"I'm not saying that you would cheat on me. I'm saying that there's the temptation to do so!" Allie screamed.
"I wanted to have a civilized conversation with you! I wanted to talk to you about this because our relationship and both of us being happy is important to me!"
"And it's not important to me!?"
"Clearly, it's not! You pick a fight or you get bitchy every time I bring it up! If you don't care about what I want to do, fine! This doesn't have to continue! I was abused for years and I couldn't do anything about it! I have the chance to get out and goddamnit I'm gonna take it!"
"Don't you dare drag your past into this! What happened to you has nothing to do with what we're dealing with!"
"Actually it does! He made me feel bad every time I told him no! Which is exactly what you're doing now! You're using my love for you against me! I'm not gonna do this, Allie!" Raphael screamed.
"Are you breaking up with me?" She gasped, waiting for the tension around them to settle down. She watched his shoulders go lax and his eyes soften.
"I don't want this....issue to ruin our senior year. I love you too much to do that to you. I don't wanna go into my senior with you if I can't leave it with you too."
"Raph, babe. Please don't leave me." Allie begged as she walked over to him. All he did was back away and sigh.
"Goodbye, Allie.....and good luck." He sniffled before walking out the door. Tears fell down her cheeks as she heard the door click.
He was gone.
She covered her face and began to sob.
