Chapter Twelve

This chapter is gonna be weird. To get the rest of this story going and really get to see the Mikey and Donnie portion of it, this chapter is gonna breeze through Raph's senior year, I'll just describe what's happening.

It may be boring but this chapter is important, or at least the end of it will be.

Walking through the halls of his high school, he finally did it. It took a lot of work but he did it. Missing a lot of days of his sophomore year, he had a lot of classes to make up last year and a few this year, but none of that mattered. Raphael Hamato was going to graduate high school in May. Everything started to feel right again. Being home with his father, his big brother was going to college, he caught the eye of the school of his dreams. But waiting for a response from them was eating him alive.

His friends were helping. Keeping him distracted from the stress. He was writing songs like crazy, playing the drums and for the first time in a long time, he felt happy, free.

Though it had only been a month since his break up with Allie, he was already talking to another girl in school who had caught his eye. Her name is Vanessa. Blonde hair, hazel eyes, absolutely in love with everything about horror, they had something real special. She wanted to move to LA to do her own thing, open and interview stars at movie premiers. They had become very close over the past few weeks. She'd go with him to their rehearsals in Josh's garage and go get ice cream with him after it.

No one believed them when they said they weren't dating or sleeping together. And maybe they did want to date each other. But he wasn't ready. He had just gotten out of a serious relationship and he didn't want people to think he needed a girlfriend. Nor did he want Allie to think their relationship never mattered to him.

Little did Raphael know, Allie was the one who spread the rumor that he and Vanessa were sleeping together and just that. The break up with Raph had changed Allie for the worse. She became nasty and petty. She wanted to spread the rumor that Vanessa was pregnant with Raph's baby. But then they'd know who started the rumor, and why.

Vanessa and Raphael walked down the halls together side by side, laughing and giggling.

"So, what are you doing for Halloween?" She asked.

"I don't know. I think Josh said he got us a gig."

"Ooh! Are you dressing up?"

"Am I dressing up?" Raphael chuckled. "Yes." He finished with a straight face.

"You wanna dress up together?" Vanessa asked. Raphael's green eyes looked into hers and he snickered.

"Are you asking me to do a couples costume?"

"Maybe..." Vanessa blushed. Raph smiled and grabbed Vanessa's hand, holding it tightly in his own.

"I'd love to do a couples costume with you." He smiled.
