The Dreadful Truth

Chapter 9

**Ava**

As me and Michael walked along the edge of the beach, he wouldnt stop looking at me. He kept making jokes which made me laugh causing him to keep looking at me. Everytime I would catch him looking at me he would look away quickly then blush.

I tried several time to get close enough to bump his hand but he kept splashing me with water. After awhile I chickened out and we just keep walking and joking around.

"Hey short stack, you want to go buy some ice cream?!" Michael yelled excited like an 8 year old.

"Aren't all the ice cream shops closed, it almost midnight?"

"I know a place, come on follow me!" He said taking my hand as we began to run.

"Slow down man I can't run that fast!"

We got back to my car and michael stole my keys to drive. I took a sip of the lemonade I had left in the car and as I was about to finish it off michael stole is and drank the rest.

"Hey dumbass I was gonna drink that!" I said hitting him on the back of his head.

"Do you want ice cream or not?"

"Fine. I hope a fly gets stuck in your ice cream and you eat it."

"Is that a threat?" He asked looking at me with a small smile on his face.

We arrived at a gas station and when we parked Michael told me to stay where I was. He got our of the car and ran around to my side to open my door for me. After I thanked him we went inside to the freezers.

"What kind of ice cream do you want?" Michael said while looking at the options.

"I think I'll stick with the best kind, cookies and cream," I said opening the freezer to grab it.

"Good choice, I think I will take the real best kind of ice cream, mint chip."

"I beg to differ sir it is obviously cookies and cream. I mean who doesnt love oreos and ice cream?"

"Fine, why dont we get a big thing to share then, how about oreo mint, you know get a little bit of both."

"Great idea Clifford," I said poking him in the side making him giggle

After we paid for our ice cream and spoons and headed back to the beach. When we got in the car I put on green day and Michael began to sing along. I started to eat some of the ice cream making michael jealous so I had to feed him some as he drove us back to the beach.

After we arrived we sat in the car eating the ice cream and listening to music. Every once in awhile I would make a joke about a lyric in the song making michael have to stop and think about it. When the ice cream was finished we decided to take some pictures then head back to my place for the night.

**Michael**

Ava was so cute when she made jokes. Most of them were really cheesy but I still laughed. We finished the ice cream and headed down to the water for some pictures for instagram.

After I took hers we switched. When we were done with mine I told ava I had to do something real quick. I took my shirt off and dived down into the ocean. When I hit the bottom I found a sea shell and grabbed it. I got out of the water and gave the shell to ava. She had a confused look on her face.

"What's the matter?" I asked.

"Why did you just go swimming the water has to be freezing."

"Yeah, but I wanted to give you a shell."

"Well thank you its beautiful, I'll go see if I have a towel in my car so you dont freeze."

After she walked away I put my shirt on. I hadn't gone in swimming in a long time. Anytime I went with the guys I always stayed under the umbrella in the shade, and no matter what I still managed to get sun burned.

As I walked back to the car. I saw ava staring at me, and I couldnt help but blush. I hoped she couldn't see it in the moon light but as I got closer to the parking lot more and more light shone on me.

"Here you go red head," she said throwing a towel at me, causing me to blush even more.

"Thanks, ready to head back?"

"Yeah, where do you want to sleep tonight?"

"Well I tend to get cold at night and I noticed you had a weighted blanket so I hoped I could sleep in your room with you," I said trying to make a cute face walking closer to her.

"Um yeah that's fine," she said blushing.

"Great, you want to watch the office and cuddle?"

"Sure, I know you miss your cuddle buddy, Luke." She said poking me in the side.

I started to blush but I just really wanted to get closer to her hoping to make her my girlfriend someday. I looked up and saw that she was blushing again too.

Not a lot of people are reading this and that's totally fine with me this book is basically just because I'm bored, and since no one is reading this that is why I'm not gonna be writing a lot.
