"Ara! Ara! Get...Your...Ass...Up!" Sydney yelled as she hit me with her pillow in between each word.

"I'm up, I'm up!" I protested, pulling my green covers over my head to shield the light. I was an inch from falling back asleep when my duvet was ripped off me and I was met with a splash of cold water. "Sydney! What the hell?!" I groaned and shot up and out of my bed, which was now soaking wet.

"You're up aren't ya?" She laughed, "Well come on darling, we don't want you to be late for your first classes at Hogwarts. You've already missed breakfast lying in bed."

I wish Syd and I had an awkward phase, maybe then she wouldn't have felt comfortable enough to soak me in water.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," I grumbled while walking over to my wardrobe and pulling out my uniform. "When do we get our schedules?"

"Well, you were supposed to get them at breakfast from Snape but seeing as you decided to sleep in, he gave it to me."

She handed me a slip of folded parchment. I say parchment instead of paper because this stuff looked ancient.

"Okay so I have Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, History of Magic, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy, Herbology, Divinations, and Care of Magical Creatures," I read off. "Please tell me we have classes together. I honestly have no idea what any of these are."

"Damn. We only have Potions, DADA, and Astronomy together," she said with a disappointed sigh.

Better than nothing I guess.

She was already dressed in her uniform while I was just now getting on my skirt. I gave up on the tie, so I just slung it around my neck.

"Wait, who is Snap?" I asked, recalling what she said moments ago.

"Snape is the head of our house, and he happens to be the potions professor. He was the one with the black greasy hair that was glaring at you during the whole feast," She informed me, grabbing a few books off the desk in between our beds.

"Oh. Was he really?"

I finished lacing up my shoes and slipping on my Slytherin robe.

"Yup. You either have people looking at you in fear, disgust, or surprise. That's what I've noticed at least," Syd shrugged, opening the door to our dormitory.

We started walking downstairs to the common room when Draco and his goons got in front of us, blocking our way.

"Oh come on Malfoy. I've been here a day and you are already attached to me," I teased locking arms with Syd. You would've thought we had been friends for years but we just immediately 'clicked'. I felt like I could trust her with anything, and that was rare.

"Attached? I'm not attached?" Malfoy hissed. "Snape sent me to tell you that you have a meeting with him and Dumbledore after your classes."

"Okay? And you had to bring your minions with you, why?" Syd chimed in, smiling. "Scared of Ara, aren't you?"

Before we could let him answer we jumped right past him and out of the common room. The moment we made it into the hallway we broke out into laughter.

"What is with that boy? I mean, do you think he bleached his hair?" I asked in between laughs.
