i switched off my laptop and rested my head on the laptop.

"Renee?" Marie asked.

"Yeah come in." i ordered.

she walked in carrying a washing basket.

"Come here." i said. Marie rushed over and smiled politely.

"Here." i handed her the plane ticket to france. What came next was unexpected. she bursted into tears and collapsed on the floor. i stared at her, my ticket still in my hand.

"Marie...?" i asked unsure on what her next reaction would be.

" 'Ee will die. 'ee will die, i have no money, 'ee will die." she sobbed. i froze as i heard what she said, then i replayd the sentences in my head.

"Marie.. im sorry." i lent down and hugged her tighly. afer all this time i was so self absorbed again that important things slipped from my mine. "Im so sorry."

mum then stormed into the room, and froze when she saw me and Marie huddled on the floor, Marie sobbing.

"What did SHE do?" mum sneered at Marie.

i stood up, anger boiling inside me.

"SHE, did nothing." i spoke, trying to keep my voice calm.

"STAND UP!" Mum shouted at Marie, and Marie stood up immeadiatly.

"Don't talk to her like that." I said, holding Maries trembling hand.

"EXCUSE ME?" Mum's piercing green eyes glared into me.
