The closet door opened wider and light fled in on Poppy and the boy she just kissedhe turned out not to be Draco.
Poppy immediately looked at Draco in shock and turned to see who she had just locked lips with.
"Harry! What the hell is wrong with you!" Poppy yelled at Harry while hitting him, Harry chuckled to himself, Poppy hit him harder.
"Let's be real, Poppy. You want me, that's alright...just admit it before anyone gets hurt," Harry winked and walked out of the closet leaving Draco and Poppy.
Draco started to walk away, pissed off and not wanting to look at Poppy, "Draco! Draco, wait please, I can explain, Draco," Poppy caught up with him and grabbed his arm, Draco turned quickly and shoved her off, "Shove off, Poppy. Maybe Potter's right, admit it before anyone gets hurt," he walked into the crowd of students and disappeared before Poppy could catch him again.
All of a sudden, Poppy felt the need to run, throw up, punch someone, do anything. She ran to the Slytherin common room and up to her dormitory, she quickly changed out of her dress and into pajamas with her moms sweater.
She felt restless in bed, she kissed Harry. Did she like him?
Of course not, he had something to do with my mothers death.
Poppy laid in bed for a while with her eyes open imagining a future with Draco, but Harry kept interrupting and sweeping her off her feet. The other girls finally came back from the party in the dungeons, but quickly passed out as soon as their heads hit their pillows.
Poppy felt guilty, she regretted kissing Harry. She finally had something with Draco, her father gave a blessing, she had no one to go to. Too restless, Poppy got out of bed and went to the owlery to visit Poe. By the time she got there, she could see the sun hit the horizon off the quidditch pitch.
Poe was asleep but immediately woke up when Poppy stroked his feathers lightly. She placed crackers in front of him for his breakfast; as he ate, she looked out onto the pitch, thinking of what to do next. She needed something new, a new hobby or event to look forward to.
When the sun fully rose in the wintery sky, Poppy went back to the dormitory to change and go down to the Great Hall. She went to the Slytherin table and saw all eyes on her and Pansy smirking, something mustve been said.
Poppy sat down on the far end, but still felt eyes on her.
"Snogging other boys, are you? Draco was so upset he met with me after hours to cheer him up," Pansy winked and laughed at Poppy who wouldnt look up from her oatmeal. Poppy could feel tears brimming her eyes, she couldnt cry here.
The Great Hall became silent as everyone wanted to listen in on the latest drama. Pansy laughed, "You really think a guy like Draco Malfoy would actually want a girl like you? Oh, please Poppy! You come from the Muggle world!" Pansy obnoxiously laughed, only others didn't join her. Everyone stared, hoping to see a response from Poppy.
She knew she shouldn't make a move since she spilled on Pansy last night, but she couldn't do nothing. Poppy stood up and faced Pansy square in the face, "Well, no shocker he only uses you for pleasure, youre not too pretty to begin with...just a body lying around looking desperate," Poppy snapped and shoved Pansy back.
Pansy fell back on the Hufflepuff table where students tried to push her away, soon the teachers were involved, and Poppy was being called down to Headmistress McGonagall's office.
"Poppy, I cannot allow this to go unpunished." McGonagall stated, she sighed and looked at Poppy sitting in the desk in front of her.
"But, Professor, she started it, I merely reacted," Poppy tried to plead her case, but McGonagall didnt want to hear it.
"I'm sorry, Poppy, but you were the first to make it physical. You will serve detention with Hagrid by his hut for a week," McGonagall sighed again, "and I will be sending a letter home to your father."
Poppy stood at once, "no! You cant, Professor McGonagall please, it was petty drama he doesn't need to know about!"
"Poppy, I'm very sorry, but this is protocol, we have to notify parents of any disruptions and detentions. You will start your detention Monday night, 8pm." McGonagall signaled for Poppy to leave the office and Poppy grabbed her bag and walked out, near to tears.
Luna and Hermione were waiting outside, unable to keep calm.
"So?" Luna piped up.
"Detention with Hagrid for a week. She's also sending a letter home to my father," Poppy gave out a frustrated sigh.
"What! She can't do that when Pansy started it!' Hermione yelled in the hallway frustrated.
"I made it physical, Pansy is all talk no walk. She's setting me up because she knows I'll push anyone in my way." Poppy started walking and they made it into the library where Draco was sitting by himself reading a book.
"What is his story anyway?" Poppy wondered aloud.
