Draco rushed to the library, hoping Poppys friends didn't leave yet, he had to find them. He went through the aisles of thousands of books, finding their studying spot and he saw Luna at a table with Cedric Diggory giggling and blushing.
"Ron, come on! The incantation for clean water if aguamenti!" Hermione laughed in disbelief at the ginger sitting next to her. Ron blushed and shrugged his shoulders, but his face turned white when he saw Draco approaching the table.
"Can I talk to you?" Draco whispered to Hermione and she looked to Ron who sat in disbelief this time.
"Ron, I'll catch up with you later, alright?" Hermione nodded to Ron as she nodded his head, picking up his things and quickly getting out of Draco's way.
"What brings you back to the library, it's been a while...I think the books have missed you," Hermione chuckled lightly, Draco was darting his eyes around seeing who was watching, "Draco, relax. Barely anyone comes in here anymore, what's up?"
"It's about Poppy, I haven't talked to her since the party. I don't know how to, I mean she kissed Potter." Draco became angry and faced Hermione.
"Draco, it was an accident. Harry grabbed her and pulled her into a closet, she was so upset after she saw the look you gave her. She thought it was you the whole time, trust me it was an honest mistake," Hermione quickly intervened.
Draco sat for a moment, processing what he had just heard, he looked around the library and chuckled, "ya know, I've missed this place, it was always a safe haven,"
"Always has been for me, too," Hermione smiled and looked down at the book in front of her.
Draco lowered his eyes, he knew about her parents. He's known since he met Harry, Harry liked to brag about those kinds of things, he admired his father for sending off that curse.
"Hermione-" Draco started but stopped himself.
"Yeah?" Hermione looked up, hoping he'd tell her something she needed to know.
"How, how do I get Poppy back?" Draco sighed, he couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth, not yet.
"Just be there for her, she really misses you. There's a quidditch match coming up, ask her to go with you," Hermione smiled lightly at Draco, it had been a while since they actually talked.
"Thanks, Hermione," Draco nodded his head in thanks and stood up to leave, "I've really missed my book nerd of a friend, ya know," Hermione laughed and nodded, they both agreed to talk soon.
