Farah's pov

I already saw the school and had almost reached the barrier when I felt him near by. Soon I heard his heavy steps behind me and I stopped and waited till he would catch up, he wants to talk.
"Farah, could we talk for a moment." He appeared next to me, a bit breathless. I chuckled
"Well you are an interesting kind of specialist. Did this little run really exhaust you that much?"
He looked up to me and a bright smile appeared on his face.
"I'm glad that my aging is amusing you so much."
"Oh please, we are not that old."
"You started it"
I smiled. I loved these little moments between us, it had always been so easy to forget my problems when we talked, and I was glad that that had never changed.
"So, what was that Farah?"
"What was what?"
"Just now, what was that? Ben has never been wrong with things like this, you know that better than anyone."
I exhaled annoyed and started walking again towards the school.
"Oh come on Farah, since when do you run from a problem. Ben is right you know, even if this is just a one time thing, we should take this seriously!"
"I'm not running from anything, we should be careful with our theories. Rumors like that spread faster than a virus."
"That's exactly why we shouldn't ignore this! We both know that this man was not attaced by some animal." I quickend my pace
"No Saul we don't know that."
"Right, so what about the burning marks, is there some kind of a dragon animal that I don't know about!?" "Don't be ridiculous."
"Oh enough now Farah."
He grabbed me by the arm and turned me around, a bit too strong because I lost my balance and I bumped into him. We were now standing close to each other and he held me by the shoulders while looking at me directly, almost challenging. This is very close I thought, I felt something rising in my stomach, excitement. This is ridiculous! and I pushed it down before he could even catch something of it.
"Farah"
he said slowly, with a calm voice. "There is no way to deny it, alright. There is a Burned one in these Woods and even- no stop, listen to me!"
he said getting louder as I tried to pull away.
"We run a School Farah! We have to protect our students, it's our responsibility!"
"Really!? Why thank you Saul for explaining the concept of my job! Do you really think that I don't know that! How can you even ask me such thing after so many years-"
"Then what is this all about heh!?"
We looked at each other both heated by the conversation that was getting louder and louder.
"Why do you deny it even when you know the truth!"
I looked away, feeling his presence in my mind but I blocked him off. "Because I don't want it to be true Saul, because I don't want to believe that there is even one of these ratchet beasts alive after what we have done!"
Silence.
Not even the woods dared to breath now. I felt his grip loosen and he let out a deep sighed. Glancing at him I catched him still looking at me, but now with a softness but also a deep sadness that I almost couldn't stand. Without a word he pulled me closer and hugged me. I was completely overwhelmed, I mean we did hug before... a lot of times... but it was never this intense. Not entirely true I thought. We hugged like this before, sixteen years ago...
I felt his arms holding me strong and his breath tickling me. I emidately had goosebumps everywhere.

If this was someone else she would've pulled away by now but with Saul she could let her own personal barriers fall.

I relaxed and pulled him even closer. "I'm sorry. You and Ben, you are right. Protecting Alfea is more important than my Ego."
I whispered, he gently stroked my head.
"Thank you, Saul"
I let out quietly, but he heard it anyway. He slowly broke free from the hug, his bright blue eyes, who were so familiar, now resting on me. A slight smile appeared on his lips, these lips, for a short moment was I on and on to close the last centimeters between us. But that thought was new and I got a bit scared, it had cought me by surprise. I got out of the hug and smiled back to overplay my insecurity.
"Let's go"
he said and we walked back, through the barrier, into the School in Silence, both deep in our own thoughts.
