Andy and I had been hanging out in my room, playing Random Questions, before the horror came.

"What's your favorite...animal?" Andy asked, still laughing from the previous question.

"Giraffe," I answered as if it was the most obvious thing ever. "Uh...Shoot, I can't think of any more questions."

Andy shrugged. "Yeah, neither can I. Good thing Kaiya and Macin are on their way."

We had invited them over fifteen minutes earlier, the first timewe had been at a loss for questions.

I nodded. "Yeah. I wonder what's taking them so long..." Itrailed off and Andy's stomach growled. I laughed. "Want me to grab some pizza rolls?"

He blushed and nodded. "That'd be great, thanks."

I grinned and stood. "I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere." He winked and I walked out of the room.

As soon as I stepped into the hallway, the smell hit me like a ton of bircks and I quickly shut the door. Why the hell did I smell so much blood?

I cautiously walked downstairs and saw my answer. The living room floor was coated with blood, and my brother sat hunched over two bodies. My eyes widened in horror in recognition.

One body had black hair with colored streaks. The other had blue hair with black tips.

The bodies of my friends were bloodied up and lifeless. They still wore the clothes they'd had on when we hung out earlier.

I put a barrier on my door so that Andy couldn't hear anything outside the room. Then I did something I hadn't done since a temper tantrum when I was five.

I erupted into my Full Reaper form.

"RUBICANTE!" I bellowed out his name given to him by our father.

The boy jerked up and timidly turned around to face me. He was in the form of a very young boy in an attempt to calm me down. It wasn't working.

He was scared of me in this form. I would be too if I had to face it. My hair became colored flamces and my eyes became pitchblack holes. My body turned into that of a skeleton, but with claws on my fingertips. All-in-all...I looked pretty fucking terrifying. The small boy in front of me trembled visibly.

"What," I began in a deadly cold voice, "did you do to my friends?"

Krys gulped. "Thost, uh, those were your friends?" He was an awful liar. Or maybe I knew he was lying because I could read his mind. Whatever.

I chuckled humorlessly. "I could kill you, you know," I pointed out.

"But...but you wouldn't," he tried to reason.

"True." I smiled evilly. Keep in mind...skeleton with firey hair. It's impossible to smile without looking scary as hell. "But I could make your life a living hell-"

"Alexandria." I whipped my head in the direction of my father's voice. He looked exhausted. "Calm down. You barely knew them."

"They were my friends!" I shouted, flames flaring viciously.

"You can bring them back to life..." my brother whispered quietly, morphing to his normal age.

I immediately calmed down, mainly due to surprise. "What?"

Krys shrugged. "I read in one of dad's Grim Reaper books that you could bring people back to life if you really cared about them. But only right after they die. Not, like, years later..."

"Whoa, wait." I held up a hand. "You read?"

rys rolled his eyes. "The point is that you can save your...friends." He grimaced at the last word. Oh, poor loner boy.

My father sighed. "For all we know, the stpries of bringing people back are myths-"

"But dad," I protested. "You're the freaking Grim Reaper. You control the dead."

"I already took them-"

"Then bring them back," I demanded.

He rubbed at his temple. "Alyxx, you know that would be an extremely difficult task-"

"If you don't, I will." We stared each other down in a challenge. He finally shook his head. "Fine." I pointed up towards my bedroom and put Andy to sleep and locked the door before sinking through the floor.

I was off to find the souls of my newly deceased friends.

And I was bringing them back.
