THE FLAYED

(Mike's pov)

the next day we all met up at my basement again, minus y/n and Dustin. I haven't heard from them for a while and it's starting to concern me.

But now we know for sure that Billy is the new host for the Mind Flayer. Max put on blindfolds on El, attempting to find Hopper so he can help us.

"I found him."

"Where is he?" Max asked. All of us were wondering the same thing.

"woods."

"woods?"

"He's with... Will's mom." El said.

Will looked surprised that his mother was involved. "My- my mom?"

"what are they doing?"

"Ill-annoy," she said. She couldn't pronounce correctly but I knew what she was talking about.

"Illinois, like the state?'

She still didn't understand. "Ill-annoy."

~-~

"This isn't right, without y/n and Dustin we can't win Billy," I said pacing back and forth.

"Why does it matter, the bottom line is... they're not here. All we know is that the Mind Flayer is getting more powerful. It's up to us.," Lucas said.

"Up to us to do what exactly?"

"Find Billy and burn the shit out of him."

"Yeah, that's nice, but we need Hopper, Dustin, and y/n to help us. The more the better." I said

"Why do you care so much if y/n is here or not. I thought that you said she wasn't in the party anymore. Do you still like her?" Lucas said.

"what no, I just feel bad about what I said, plus I'm trying to get back with El," I said lying straight through my teeth.

"Yeah and how's that working out for you, Mike?" I heard a voice behind me and it was Max. "You know we can hear everything you guys said right?" She said as her and El started laughing.

I tried to ignore what they just said but I just couldn't. After I read y/n's diary, I realized that I still loved her. I never felt this way before. Not even with El. So why am I trying to get back with her? I don't even know. It's like I'm entitled to be El's boyfriend. I don't know this whole thing is so confusing.

I rolled my eyes at them and turned around away from them. I heard another knock on the door, thinking it was my mom I yelled for her to go away again. But it wasn't her. It was Nancy. "Mike, open the door," she said in a demanding voice.

I got up the stairs and open the door and I see Nancy and Jonothan out of breath.

(your pov)

It was now the next day and we were still stuck in the elevator. Us 'children' as Robin and Steve called it were sleeping while they stayed up all night thinking of a way to get out. god they were so loud, it made my headache hurt even more. I woke to Dustin saying "code red, I repeat a code red," into the walkie-talkie.

"hey take it easy on that thing, you're gonna drain the battery," Steve said climbing to the top of the opening in the elevator. I heard them talking about something but I couldn't fully understand. I decided to climb up to them and see what they were talking about. Erica was the only one asleep so I had to be quiet. I finally got to the top after a couple tries.

"hey guys, nothing new yet?" I asked.

"no, me and robin were awake the whole night coming up with a plan." Steve said.

"I know. you guys were very loud." I said. I was so cranky. I just wanted to get out of here. My parents probably don't even care that I'm gone. All they care about is Troy and themselves. I was their first child so they forgot about me. But once they knew that I wasn't there, I would be in deep shit.

"guys, I'm just telling you, if at the end this ends up to be a funny joke or prank, you guys won't hear the end of it," I yelled back and went back down with Robin and Erica.

"hey y/n." robin called.

"hey"

"so yesterday, you said that Mike said something to you, what did he say?"

"oh it was something that happened last year, there was this dumb school dance that we were supposed to go together, but right before it started he dumped me and decided to go with a freaky chick, Eleven," I explained.

"So the girl's name is Eleven?" she asked.

"yeah, and she has this crazy powe-" before I could finish I heard water dripping down from the top onto the wall. It took me a couple seconds to realize but-

"can you redirect your stream, please?" robin shouted.

and so he moved a couple inches away, still not changing anything. Me and robin groaned in disgust. I guess me and robin were too busy to notice that Erica was awake and started banging the glass container with god knows what inside on a metal bin. "hey be careful, we don't know what's inside." robin said as she snatched it away from her. "exactly, it could be useful."

"useful how?" I said joining in.

"it could be water."

"sorry to break it to you erica, but this is not water," I said.

Erica snatched the bottle back as robin pressed her ear to the wall. it was the Russians. Robin went to the top and warned steve and Dustin. robin climbed to the top and me and erica followed. I managed to pull myself up before two angry Russians entered the elevator room. I let out a silent 'phew' before steve shushed everyone, which no one was talking. they entered the room and one of them started sniffing, which was weird.

"ты чувствуешь это?"

"что"

"пахнет мочой"

they sniffed again then shrugged it off.

I understood everything they said. In California, I took classes that required me to speak Russian so I had to learn if I liked it or not. As they left, I started staring at steve. "what, do you understand them?" he said looking at me. "Yes, actually, they smelled your piss," I said and started getting down as soon as they were out of sight. Erica still had that one glass filled with green liquid. the elevator door started closing as steve it took out of her hands and used it to stop the door from closing. All of us managed to get through the small opening right before it burst. The green ooze left holes as it still kept going down. "you still wanna drink that?" robin said snickering quietly as me and her high fived. We looked ahead and saw a never-ending hallway, just like the elevator shaft.

"holy fucking shit."
