The three teens got out of the car, Robin and Steve being the oldest. "I mean why Family Video, there's like tons of other jobs in Hawkins" y/n shut the door, following Steve and Robin into the store. "My mom is well respected here, it'll be easier to get a job around here." Steve answered back before entering. "you guys are such dinguses!" Robin yelled and the three of them laughed.
Steve and Robin were applying for a job at Family Video because they could no longer work at Scoops Ahoy, due to the mall damaging. People in town rarely talked about the accident. And if they did, they would talk in secret, not wanting anyone to hear their conversations.
They walked in, admiring every aspect of the store. But y/n saw a familiar face at the front desk. "oh my god, you're Keith! You used to work at the arcade, what happened?" she walked over and leaned her body on the counter.
"I got fired for eating on the job too many times," Keith said with a monotone voice while munching on Cheeto puffs, which he also seemed to have. "alright y/n." Robin kindly motioned for y/n to move so they could talk to him.
She moved over and the adults of the group took over the counter. "ok we are here for a job position for the 2 of us." Robin announced. Steve rolled his reference paper in his hands.
"and why would I offer you guys a job here?" Keith rubbed his orange dusted fingers on his work uniform.
"well, we used to work at Scoops in Starcourt. But we weren't fired you know. There was this big fire that damaged the mall." Robin stated. y/n felt uncomfortable, thinking about the accident, and started fidgeting with her bracelet, with a new one added to the collection.
"Thanks for sharing, didn't know," he said with sarcasm. He obviously knew, everyone knew. "alright then, three favorite movies go!" Keith pointed to Robin.
"uh, the Apartment, Hidden Fortress, and Children of Paradise," she said nonchalantly. y/n waited patiently for them to finish. "you." now Keith pointed to Steve.
"Three favorite movies?" Steve was nervous, y/n could tell. "did I stutter?" Keith raised his voice. It didn't look like Keith and Steve got along very well. "uh well- um." Steve stammered over his words.
"eyes on my, Harrington!" Keith pointed to his eyes which freaked out Steve.
