Chapter 15

Skye's POV
The sun was just rising above the horizon. There was a cool gentle breeze blowing and the chirping of birds. It was about 7:30 and I was up in my pup house in pain. My paw still hurt but it was worse than yesterday. I didn't want to let anyone know I was hurt so I kept it to myself, though Zuma knows. I was trying to bear with the pain when I heard a knock.

"Who is it?" I asked. "It's Zuma open up." He said. So I opened the door and let him in.

"Skye is your paw still hurting?" He asked.

"Yeah and it's worse than yesterday..." I frowned.

"You got to tell the others." He said worried.

"No, I don't want them to know and think I can't handle things." I told him looking down.

"Skye they won't think that, I don't." He said with a smile.

"Yeah but your my best friend, and are closer to me that the others are except Everest." I said.

"I'm sure they won't, they..." he didn't get to finish because Ryder called us to the yard.

He helped me up knowing it's hard for me to walk and we both went to see what he wanted. We were all sitting down when Ryder started talking.

"Okay pups so I was thinking we go to the beach today." He said with a smile.

"Yeah!" Everyone shouted. "Haha, okay then let's go." Ryder said.

Everyone started walking and when I tried to walk I was limping. I tried not to show it and keep up by going faster, but that put more pain in my paw making me whimper.

"Skye, you okay?" Ryder asked. "Uhh yeah I'm fine." I answered, but by the look on his face he didn't buy it.

"Skye, walk over here." He said.
That's when I got nervous, I couldn't walk without limping they would know.

"Skye?" He said. "What hurts?"

"How did you.." i didn't finish when he cut me off. "Skye, I always can tell when your hurting." He said.

I sighed, "My paw hurts and part of my leg." I said with a frown.

He walked over to me and asked me which one. He bent down to the one I told him and went down from the top until he touched a part that really hurt.

I growled at him and he backed away. I realized what I did and started to move away from him.

"I'm sorry Ryder...it just hurt really bad." I said to him with my head down.

"I know Skye but you have to let me check." He said. So he bent down and checked my leg and when he got to the part where it was hurting and moved my fur a bit his eyes widened."

"Ryder what is it?" Chase asked.

"Skye your leg is really swollen looks like you sprained it, how did this happen?" Ryder asked

"Rubble was chasing us and tripped and fell on top of Skye, Chase, and me and when we were getting up he stepped on her leg." Zuma said.

"Then when everyone left she went to her pup house and I found out that she was hurt." Zuma finished.

"Wait you knew!?" Marshall said.

"How come you didn't tell us!?" Rocky said.

They stared getting mad at him and yelling especially Chase to the point where i couldn't hear anything because it was so loud so I spoke up.

"ITS BECAUSE I TOLD HIM NOT TO!" I yelled. They all turned to look at me.

"But why?" Chase said walking up to me. "Why couldn't you tell me?" He asked sitting in front of me.

"I...I don't know, it's just..never mind." I said and turned away from him.

Chase POV
Why couldn't she tell me what, did she think would happen. I thought for a little then came to a realization. She thought we would think she was weak and couldn't handle things.

I turned her head toward me and looked at her.
"Skye, we are not going to think your weak because you got hurt." I said quietly so the others wouldn't hear.

"I know but it always feels that way to me." She said looking down.

"Skye, it shouldn't feel that way we all love you, I love you." I said with a smile.

She looked up at me and eventually her frown turned into a smile.

"Thanks Chase." She said as she kissed me.

"WOAH! Since when were you guys a thing?" Rocky asked.

Chase froze he forgot they were there and he couldn't speak. Skye laughed at his reaction.

"For a while now." She said still giggling.

"Totally knew it." Zuma said.

"I already knew about it, oh and Skye I should probably wrap your paw up." Marshall said.

"Okay." She answered. A few minutes later he was done.

"Thanks Marshall." Skye said. "No problem." He answered.

"Well since Skye is hurt and it somehow is already almost noon how about we just watch a movie in the lookout with some snacks?" Ryder asked.

"Okay." Everyone said.

"Ryder can me and Skye just hang out?" Chase asked.

"Sure." He said. He and the others went inside the lookout. While me and Skye went inside my pup house. We both laid down and cuddled with each other.

"Skye, I love you." I told her.
"I love you to Chase." She replied.

We kissed each other, but over the next few minutes things started to escalate some.

In the lookout...

"I wonder what Chase and Skye are doing." Rubble said.

Marshall and Zuma looked at each other knowing they had the same thought and just laughed.

"What?" Rubble asked.

"NOTHING!" They both said quick and continued to watch the movie.
