Annabeth's POV

After we all stopped laughing at Nico's comment, Tony Stark stepped forward. I was completely surprised that Leo hadn't fang rolled over him when they first met. After thinking about it I realized I had heard some about this group called The Avengers. I new enough to understand that Tony was a mechanic and had invented some impressive technology. I, on the other hand, was more interested in the thought of meeting Dr Bruce Banner in the CEO of Stark industries Pepper Pots. I found their work to be much more interesting than the mechanics that Stark often occupies himself with.

"Well if you're joining our team," the billionaire said, snapping me out of my thoughts, "we should get you settled." Of course, I thought, they would want to be close in order to fight whatever evil was coming. My mother implied that's something huge was going to happen and we would need these mortals. Because of this it would probably be best if they were close by for when we needed them.

"Follow us." Natasha said in, what I presumed, was her normal quick and sharp fashion. They let us out of the training room and turned a corner before they paused in front of a pair of doors in the wall. The doors open automatically and inside was an elevator. I immediately clammed up and felt Percy to the same beside me.

"Would there be some stairs we could take instead?" I asked fighting to keep my voice steady. Ever since.... That place Percy and I have avoided elevators. I saw the confused glances of The Avengers and the sympathetic ones from our friends. We had not told the Avengers any of the specifics of what had happened during that time. Truthfully, we had hardly told anyone the specifics of what happened down there.

I guess the Avengers have learned enough to know not to question our motives because when Steve spoke all he said was "sorry but there aren't any stairs here." I shared a panicked glance with Percy before we intertwined our hands and said we would be fine.

Even though we said this, both Percy and I knew it was a lie. We lied to calm our friends worry. Of course, by now it's not work too well. They knew we were lying as much as we did. So, in all truthfulness, The mortals were the only person this lie would please. We were used to it by now, all demigods were. Life is dangerous for us there is nothing we can do about it. Those of us who still had families lied to them about the danger we were in.

We all stepped into the elevator. Percy and I held on to each other, both painfully aware that the other was the only thing keeping us tethered to this world. We didn't let go of each other until we were safely out of the elevator and we had calmed down enough to do so safely.

I, for the first time, looked at where we were now. The room we were standing in now was clearly a lounge. There were couches, coffee tables, and various chairs scattered around the room. There were several hallways stretching out from the lounge, my guess was that they led to bedrooms and where we would be staying.

Percy, being Percy, grabbed my hand and dragged me down one of the hallways. To the right of each door was two cards. One of them stating the room number and the other who was living there. Percy suddenly stopped in front of one door. The first card had the number 745 and the second the word "unoccupied". My boyfriend reached out and turned the door knob before entering.

Of course, I had noticed the long distance between each of the doors while you're running down the hallway. Even that did not prepare me for the largeness of this room. Or, should I say this apartment. It had its own kitchenette, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. The bedroom itself was able to easily accommodate a king sized bad, a dresser, a desk, and still have enough room that Percy and I could have stretched out and made snow angels on the carpet.

I heard the sound of footsteps behind us and turned to see the demigods standing there with smiles on their faces in the Avengers with a confused look about them. I started to wonder if the Avengers ever figured something out.

"So Annabeth tell me," Leo said in a fake announcer's voice, "does percabeth claim room 745?"

"Yes Leo we do." I responded, letting him have his fun.

"Wait!" I turn to Steve as he spoke, "no way are we letting two engaged teenagers share a room! Not happening." My face turned crimson at the thought of what he was implying.

"What, no we would never--just no." I stuttered before hiding my red face in my hands. Luckily Percy saved me.

"We would never do.... That, we just need to be around each other when we sleep so we don't get nightmares." Steve, apparently satisfied by how awkward just thinking about it made us held his hands up and said okay.

"While we're on the topic of sharing rooms,"Will spoke, "Nico and I share one too for the same reason as Percy and Annabeth."

"That's fine, everyone should go pick out a room then meet in the lounge to talk about some other stuff." Natasha spoke with surprising kindness in her voice. They all left me in Percy to get settled.
