After the funeral, I just layed on my back beside Dales fresh grave. Right before he died, thats when I felt the closest to him, I wanted him to know that. I wanted him to know I was with him, on his side no matter what, even if he was dead I was on his side. It was getting colder and I could see my breath a little, if I keep losing myself with these episodes...I will fail the people closest to me and that's something that would kill me internally. I don't want to die yet, I want to live for Dale.
"Hey." Adym says.
"Hi." I say back.
"You Alright? You've been out here for a least an hour."
"I'm fine, I'm just thinking." I say looking at the bright blue sky.
"No episode?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Not today."
"That's good." He smiled with relief. "You know, Hershel is moving us into the house, wanna help get our stuff together...I'll do the heavy lifting."
A smiled spreads across my face, "Okay."
He helped me up as he walked back towards the house, I packed all of my things in my backpack and clipped it around my torso. As I carried the basket of clothes into the house, Beth greeted me.
"Would you like to stay with me in my room?" She asked.
"Of course, thank you." I say as she helps me take my stuff to her room. "I can take this corner over here. If thats Alright."
"Yeah, go, ahead. Make yourself comfortable." She says heading back out to help.
"Hey, sis, I found this. You lose it?" My brother asked as he held out my Meteor hammer, he winced as he cuts him finger.
I grab it by the exterior chain, "You need gloves when you handle this."
He sucked on his thumb. "I understand, it's so sharp."
"How are y'all coming along?" Hershel asked as he entered the room.
"Pretty good. Thank you again, for your hospitality." I say.
"Adym, they need some help getting the rv over here, would you help them?" Hershel asked.
"Oh- yeah." He says leaving the room.
Hershel looks at me. "I heard there was no episode today."
"Yeah, I don't know why, probably because of the mood stabilizers, how's Beth reacting to the antidepressants I gave her?" I asked.
"Much better. Thank you." He says. "Keep your head up."
I gave him a smile as he left the room, I sighed, something feels off even though everyone seems happy that we are moving in, it still seemed like a problem. I looked out the window that had the view of the field, that's when I see Shane walking in the direction that Randall is in. He might have something else mind today. I walked outside just as Rick, T dog and Daryl were preparing the truck.
"Whats up?" T asked.
"How are you feeling?" Asked Rick.
"I'm okay." I say. "You guys be careful out there."
"We will." Daryl says.
"Is that Adym's shirt?" Asked Rick.
I looked down at my clothes and shrugged, I'm also wearing his cap that says 'Rich'. But we all know he's broke.
T chuckled. "I'm going to get our prisoner."
He walks away as I gave Rick a long side hug, he patted my back and I smiled.
"You forgive me?" He asked.
"I'm getting there." I say.
T comes running back in a state of panic, out of breath he says. "He's gone."
Without hesitation we all make it back to the shed, to where Randall was indeed missing. There's blood around his cuffs, maybe he slid-- what am I thinking. There's no way out, Daryl closed up the hole and the door had to be locked-- Shane.
"What's wrong?" Asked Lori as everyone else piled out the back door.
"Randall's missing." Glenn says.
"Missing? How?" Maggie asked.
"How long as he been gone?" Asked Hershel.
"Don't you think it's strange that Randall and Shane are gone?" I say as Lori gives me a look.
"Cuffs are still linked he must have slipped them." Rick says.
"Is that possible?" Asked Lori.
"It is if you got nothing to lose." Andrea says walking out of the shed.
"The door was still secure from the outside." Hershel closes the door.
"And Daryl already boarded up the hole..." I say. We all need to watch our backs, seriously.
"Rick! Rick!" Shane shouts as he comes from the woods with a bloody face.
"What happened?" Asked Lori.
"He's armed. He's got my gun." He says.
"Are you okay?" Asked Carl. As he comes closer I can see that his nose was broken, I knitted my brows together.
"Im fine. Little bastard just snuck up on me, clocked me in the face." He says, and it's just not adding up for me.
"Alright. Hershel, T dog, get everybody back in the house." Rick says. "Daryl, Glenn come with us."
"W-wait." I grab Ricks arm and whispered in his ear. 'Be careful.' He looked back at me for a second as if he knew something and nodded his head
"T, Im gonna need that gun." Shane says.
"Just let him go." Says Carol. "That was the plan, to let him go."
"The plan was to cut him off far away from here. Not loose on our front step with a gun." Shane grabs T's gun.
"Don't go out there. You know what could happen." Carol pleads as they walked away.
"This is a mistake." I say.
"Get everybody back in the house." Rick says one last time.
"Come on." Maggie urges me and I reluctantly went with them. There's no way Randall got the jump on Shane, he's a kid that weighs five pounds, ten when wet. I'm sure Daryl can figure out what happened faster than Rick can. Day turned to night in a blink, they are taking too long to deal with this, I'm just hoping nothing bad happens. As I put my hair up, I heard a door creak and some small footsteps. I opened the door slightly to see Carl sneaking down stairs. Hm...I hooked my backpack back on and followed him out the backdoor. He must be going to search for Rick, but whose going to protect him if he gets lost? Me.
He walked closer to the wide open field where I saw two shadows, I assumed it was Rick and Shane, one has his gun up and the other is handing his gun over. The smaller one whips out a knife and stabs the other in the stomach and the gun goes off. I stopped in my tracks, not sure what to do, but I hear Ricks howling cry...he killed Shane, didn't he?
I stepped closer behind Carl, I could hear him crying as he spoke. "Dad?"
Rick looked distraught as he stoop up shaking. "Carl."
I shuddered at the cold, as I realized that Shane was actually dead. Rick did it, he really did.
"You know..." Rick walked a little closer. "You should be back home with mom."
Carl lifted his gun at Rick and I looked back a Rick, my eyes widen as I see Shane stand up, I moved to unbuckle my back and reached in for my gun as the walker drew closer.
"Rick." I say digging through my bag.
"Reiya, please. Carl-- just put the gun down. Please. Its not what it seems." Rick started to tear up.
"Carl!" I shouted as Shane was almost to Rick, Carl shoots and Shane hits the ground. I finally found my gun but I dropped to the ground, as my breathing heaved.
