Part 33

I wake up to an alarm clock, I groaned, Rick and his stupid clock. I get up and through my sheet I see Rick holding Judith, I yawned as I walked over to them.

"Good morning." He says.

"Good morning." I say kissing Judith then him. "What's for breakfast?"

"The usual." He says and I sighed.

"You should get Carl up, he stayed up again, reading those comic books." I mumbled as he sighed. I get dressed and brushed my teeth, Leo is still sleeping as usual, if I tried to wake him up he would probably be mad for the rest of the day.

"Hey, Rei, do we have any cough drops or something? Olivia is coughing something awful." Adym asked. I found it weird people were all the sudden coughing. I checked in my draws but didn't find anything.

"Let me check on Olivia and then I can make her some herbal tea." I say and he nodded. I go to the medical store room and grabbed a stethoscope, bringing it back to my brother's room.

"Hi, Olivia, what's happening?" I asked pulling up a seat.

She clears her throat. "My throat feels enlarged in a way and my chest hurts, I don't know."

"Okay." I say pressing the scope to her chest. "Breath. Again. Again."

Then I get to her back, I knitted my brows together. It is fluid in her lungs or mucus? I sighed, I don't want to freak her out.

"What's the diagnosis, Doc?" She says playfully.

I chuckled. "I think it's the flu, I'm going to make you some tea, if that's okay?"

She nodded, I leaned against the wall as I left the room. I don't think it's the flu, I don't know what it is. It could be a new sickness, who knows. I jumped at the sound of gunshots in the prison, Adym comes running out.

"What was that!?" He asked.

"Lets go find out." I say as we run into another cell block for it to be walkers everywhere, Without hesitation we being taking them out. I see a little boy in the corner, sobbing hysterically, I grabbed his hand swiftly, keeping him away.

"Stay behind me." I say say shooting a Walker down in front of me. "Karen!"

I passed her the boy. "Watch out!"

I turned around as a walker grabs my arms, pulling me towards her. They are stronger, they must have just turned, I grunted as I kicked its stomach and grabbed its head, crushing it on the stairwell.

"Are we clear?" Asked Rick as the cell block was now quiet.

"Yeah, clear." Adym say.

"Up here." Glenn says as I make my way upstairs, a walker grabs Rick by surprised.

"Watch out." Daryl says shooting an arrow. I walked over to the body, Oh, my god. "It's Patrick."

"Oh, my god." I started to freak out."It's a virus."

Rick looks up at me like I didn't just let that slip from my mouth. I should have known, of course I'd know. Poor Olivia. I start to the first cell, stabbing them in the head. They were killed in their sleep, I sighed, this is crazy. I swallowed and covered my mouth and nose as I left the cell block until I got back to my room, I put on a black facemask I found. If this is virus is what I think it is, it's airborne, I need to tell the others. I run back to the other cell block but I don't see Rick.

"Hey, Karen, Tyreese, have you seen Rick or Daryl?" I asked.

"Yeah, they're upstairs." Tyreese tells me as I run up.
