The girls look up after hearing a little cough. "I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I've noticed you finished your coffee quite some time ago. Would you perhaps like another cup?" The same boy who brought their orders earlier today is standing next to their table, smiling as politely as always. "Oh don't worry about it, you weren't interrupting anything." Fai says with a smile. "We would love to order another cup of coffee, right Amy?" the brunette looks at her friend who enthusiastically nods her head. "Yes, we still have a lot to catch up on so we could use some more coffee." Amy says with a grin. "I will bring you some coffee then, anything else?" the boy puts the empty coffee cups on his tray. "No, just coffee is fine." Amy says, making him nod before leaving the two girls alone again. "I am seriously wondering how he can smile like that the whole day. My jaws already hurt when I see him doing it." Fai says, laughing softly. "I was honestly thinking the same, I guess he must really like his job." Amy looks at the guy behind the bar, he is already busy talking to another customer. "But you were telling me about P'King and that girl he was talking to." she says before focusing her gaze on Fai again; no matter how hard she is trying to change the subject, she will not succeed. "What happened after that? Did they like, date or anything?" Amy raises her eyebrows.
The brunette lifts her shoulders. "I don't really know, later on I did find out they are classmates. I haven't seen them together after that." a deep sigh leaves Fai her lips. "But it doesn't matter, he is a heartbreaker so-" "Hold up, not every bad boy breaks hearts." Amy says, interrupting her friend once again. "From what I have heard until now it seems like he really cares for you. I mean, his feelings for you could actually be true. His appearance is not prove that he will break your heart." Amy looks her friend in the eyes. "I know." The brunette eventually says. "I know, but I just can't forget about that girl." she mumbles. "His classmate? Do not worry about her, they probably had to work together for a project or something like that. It's no-" "No I mean a different girl." Fai scratches the back of her head. Amy her eyes widen. "Another girl? Who is it this time?" she clenches her hands into fists, how come there are so many girls and obstacles in this story? It almost looks like Fai is adding more drama than there actually is. Or she is just thinking too much about it?
"Well, there was this girl who came to me and asked me if I could step away from King." Fai starts telling, Amy almost chokes in her own spit. "She what? How dare she ask something like that? I may hope you just laughed in her face and told her to get lost?"
"No Amy, of course I did not do that. She had a good reason to ask me, I feel sorry for her. It felt like I was stealing the love that was meant for her." Fai looks down at the table. "Will that be reason number thirteen?" Amy asks, hungry for more of the story. Fai nods. "Yeah I guess it is, reason number thirteen will be that it feels like I'm stealing the love that was meant for someone else." The brunette looks up at her friend. "But I will tell you the first time I met that girl, the one time before she asked me to let King alone."---
King raises an eyebrow and looks at his friend with his arms crossed. "So tell me Mek, do you have any interest in Chelsea or not?" he asks his friend. Mek looks at him with a frown. "That's the most random thing you have ever asked me, why do you even want to know something like that?" Mek asks, he does not seem to get why he needs to answer such a random question. "Don't tell me she asked you to see if Mek likes her." Boss says looking at King. Boss might not be the smartest of this group, but he is very quick witted when it comes to stuff like this. "She asked me if I could find out, I promised her to ask it in a not so obvious way." King explains. "But what you just did was the total opposite of what you promised her." Bohn remarks, making Boss nod in agreement. "So what? She should have just asked him herself. I do not understand why she asks me to do something like this, I already helped her with her homework. Girls who keep on asking stuff from you are really annoying." King runs a hand through his hair while looking around. It is a sunny day, great weather to go outside. "I thought you liked Chelsea, you seemed interested in her when you were working together with her." Boss says, putting a hand on King's shoulder. But the dark-haired boy does not answer him, his attention gets caught by a brunette who is passing them. She has a book in her hands, trying to both read and walk at the same time without bumping into someone or something. "King?" Boss waves his hand in front of his eyes. "I'm sorry guys, but I have to go. See you later." King grabs his bag and walks away from his friends. He speeds up his pace a little until he is walking next to the brunette. She seems to be intrigued by her book, at first Fai does not even notice that the older boy is walking next to her. "Do you like that book too?" King asks when he sees the title of the book she is reading. Fai looks up, a little shocked because she did not expect anyone to start talking to her. "Yeah, I do." Fai answers, a frown appears on her face. "Wait, do you know this book?" it is not a book she thought someone like King would be interested in, let alone actually read. "Yeah, I read all the books of the series. When this one came out two months ago, I bought it immediately." The older boy looks at the page that Fai is reading. "I see you almost finished reading it." he notes. Fai nods with a smile, taking a quick look at the book in her hands. "I am so curious to find out what will happen to them in the last couple of chapters. Like, is her father going to find out? Or does he already know? He has been acting really suspicious since he- Oh sorry." a little giggle leaves the brunette her lips. "I'm rambling again, I am so sorry." she apologizes. King shakes his head, his lips curled up in a bright smile. "Don't apologize, it's cute to see you ramble about something you like. Your eyes sparkle when you do so." a comment that makes Fai her cheeks turn slightly red. Until this morning she was a little mad at the senior. Even though she did not want to admit it, it hurt her seeing him talking to that other girl. But she completely forgot about all that the moment he started talking about the book. "I heard that they already made a movie of this book. It will be in the cinema this Friday, want to watch it together?"
Before Fai can answer there is a girl who disturbs their conversation. She seems to be a second-year student, Fai has seen her before, but she cannot quite recall when she did.
"P'King, I have something important to tell you." the girl says, clearly nervous. "Okay?" King raises an eyebrow, waiting for her to tell him the 'important' thing she just mentioned. "I..." the girl looks down; she takes a deep breath before looking up at King again. Her body is shaking despite her attempt at looking confident. She has known P'King for a long time now but never dared to tell him what she is about to say. "I love you P'King." The girl holds a little box with chocolates up in the air, a little note with a big heart attached on it. King does not really know what to do, he has an uncomfortable look on his face. The girl pushes the box in his hands and gives him a peck on his cheek before the older boy can do anything. Fai raises an eyebrow, she is about to walk away from the two, but King grabs her wrist to stop her. He looks at the other girl with an almost cold look in his eyes. "I'm sorry, you seem like a nice girl, but my heart is already taken by someone else. If you had confessed to me half a year earlier, I might have accepted your feelings then. I'm sorry but now I can't." King his gaze moves from the second-year student to Fai, a sweet smile on his lips. The girl notices quickly and looks at Fai as well, her eyes start tearing up. "Why was I so insecure all these years, if I had confessed just a little earlier..." she mumbles to herself, without saying anything else she walks away from the couple. Fai looks at King. "Weren't you a little harsh?" she raises an eyebrow. "Harsh? I just told her the truth, she should be glad I didn't give her any false hope." The tall boy runs a hand through his dark hair. "Still, that poor girl almost had to cry. I feel bad for her."
---"Two days later the same girl came to me and asked if I wanted to step back from King. She could see I wasn't really interested in him the way she was, so she wanted me to give her a chance." Fai says, finishing her story. "That is complete bullshit." Amy scoffs. "Fai, you deserve to love someone just like anyone else. And who says you are not interested in him? She just couldn't accept the fact that he rejected her." she crosses her arms and looks Fai in the eyes. "You know what the most pathetic thing on earth is?" she then asks, making Fai raise an eyebrow in wonder. "Thinking you deserve to be loved by someone who is clearly not interested in you. P'King rejected her confession and if she really loves him, she should just let him go and be happy with the one he truly loves: you."
