ALPHA UNIVERSE #2: HEAVEN

CHAPTER 5

Awkward—no, it's actually annoying.

The way his smiles shine and melodic laughter erupts while talking to her father, and when he smirks when he'll meet her eyes.

It's fucking annoying. Irritating, infuriating, exasperating, frustrating, vexing—whatever synonym there is, it is what it is.

Hyerim stabbed the innocent meat for the nth time, her boring eyes not leaving the alpha for a couple of seconds, until a nudge tore it off.

"I know he's hella aggravating, but he's kinda nice," Mark whispered, and she scoffed.

"You're calling that nice? How about when he approached me earlier? He fucking kissed my hand!"

"Any problems right there, bae?"

There's the rhythmic tone and the cocky grin. Hyerim knew well that it wasn't her surname that he's referring to, but a pet name.

The omega clicked her tongue yet masked her anger in a sweet smile, perfectly covering the way her displeased pheromones were running in the air.

"Nothing, Hyuckie, though, may I excuse myself out in a bit?" she politely excused with a light bow to the elders, sliding out of her seat and to the doors.

Mark snorted, and Haechan hid his amusement. The Lee parents complimented Hyunsu for raising a girl correctly, or so they thought.

After a couple of bites, the youngest alpha cleared his throat, gaining attention.

"Uhh, Hyerim seemed out long now. Should I look for her?"

Sooyoung smiled and patted her son's head. "Go on, Donghyuck," she cooed.

As Haechan bowed at Hyunsu and quickly walked out, Mark joined in the conversation with a hesitant start.

"Do you guys really think they will get along well?"

The elders shared a confusing look.

"Why? Are they enemies or something?" Dowoo asked.

"Sort of? I mean, I could literally feel their debating dominance awhile ago." Mark shrugged.

Hyunsu frowned, and so did Sooyoung, finding the situation weird as they could clearly see their kids sort of getting along.

"Hyerim will surely get to know him better, and Donghyuck will too. I'm sure they will both work it out," Dowoo doubtfully said, looking at Hyunsu.

The man just frowned, not knowing how to ask his daughter about it.

"Fucking Lee," Hyerim grumbled, washing her hands a little bit harshly while gritting her teeth.

"Should I ask Mark to swap with him? I don't mind now if it is him." She slammed the tap close and reached for the toilet paper.
