Hyerim shivered at the contact of his cold, bare hands on her exposed arms. The atmosphere seemed warm just awhile ago but suddenly rose—feeling the coolness of her skin washing away and being replaced by heat.

The alpha's eyes stayed on hers. It was hooded by the effect of the drink but remained mesmerizing. It's like a pool of hypnotism that makes your system freeze and pushes you to stay.

Haechan's stares aren't uncomfortable. It puts you in place, as if it longs for attention and submission.

Those deep brown eyes alone release dominance.

"When you were four, what do you remember?"

Hyerim snapped back to reality, where she noticed that the alpha was already a ruler away from her.

"When I was four," she started being unstable. "I... dad said we moved here in Seoul."

"And?"

"And...what?"

Haechan's brows knitted at the answer. He expected it to be more detailed and would cost an hour for a little throwback. He senses something different.

"I'm asking for your own experience, bae. Not what your dad told you."

"Seriously, I don't remember."

Haechan sighed and completely stopped drinking, then rounded the stool to fully face her.

"Hyerim, you don't remember? Anything?"

The omega just shook her head.

That's weird

"Okay, what about this? What do you remember during your stay in Canada?"

Again, she shook her head. And this time, Haechan engraved this very memory in his brain so he would remember to ask her family about it.

"Dad just told me we moved after mom died. So we can start anew."

"Okay," he said, nodding with a heavy sigh.

She doesn't remember anything; how can I make her remember me? What happened to you, Bae Hyerim?

Yet the more the alpha looks at her and watches and observes her movements, she's completely fine. The story is just different. Like, how can she forget everything so easily? Without only one memory?

Maybe something happened in the past that he wasn't aware of? Something bad? Something that can lose her memory

"Bae, can you explain something about your surroundings in Canada? Just a little bit? The house, the streets, the neighbors, your friends?"

He carefully watched as she was deep in thought.

Hyerim's brows were furrowed in silence for a couple of moments, but the result is the same.

Nothing.

By now, the alpha really needs to meet someone who could solve this mystery.
