Eris had visited Hermione every day since she was petrified. It had happened on the 8th, and today was the 22nd, so it'd been two weeks. Hermione was obviously quiet since she was petrified, but it was still odd to be in her presence and not hear her say something every 5 seconds.

Eris didn't really know what to do with her. What are you supposed to do when you want to hang out with someone but they can't talk, move, or respond to anything you do? It was frustrating, but it had resulted in Eris doing her homework in the hospital wing of the castle every night, so at least she was being productive. That was what her and Hermione usually did anyways, but it was hard to complete it without her help.

"What famous wizard's companion was a niffler?" Eris read of her History of Magic homework one night, "why do I have to know this, bet they're dead anyways," Eris tossed her paper on Hermoine's bed in frustration, "I bet you know the answer, don't you?"

No one responded to her.

"I think I prefer doing homework with you correcting all my answers then doing it by myself, even if you do get pretty annoying," she laughed.

No response, yet again.

"Right," Eris frowned, picking her book up again, "well let's try to find an answer, shall we?" Eris flipped through the pages of her text book, passing all kinds of famous wizards before getting to the back and looking for "Niffler" in the index. She dragged her finger along the "N" section before she landed on Niffler.

"Ok, page 128..." Eris flipped all the way back to the beginning of the book and quickly came across page 128, "Who the bloody hell is Newt Scamander?"

"A great student, and an even better friend," a voice answered from behind her, startling her.

"Sorry Professor Dumbeldore, I was just doing some homework," Eris sighed, realizing it was no one of any harm.

"History of Magic, am I correct?" He sat down on the chair that was on the other side of Hermione's bed. He seemed calm, at ease like he usually appeared to be.

"Yes, sir," Eris nodded, "You knew Mr. Scamander?"

"I did, he passed a few years ago," Dumbeldore nodded, a fond smile on his face, like he was reminiscing of a better time.

"I'm sorry for your loss, professor."

"He was a very intelligent man, much like your friend Ms. Granger."

Eris chuckled softly, "she's gonna be something amazing one day."

"I don't doubt that..." He began, "I wouldn't worry too much for her if I were you, Ms. Black. I'm sure somebody is going to solve this very soon. She'll be back in the Great Hall eating lunch by next week."

"How can you be so sure?" Eris tilted her head as the old man began to rise from his seat and make his way towards the exit.

"She has no reason to be scared, Ms.Black, she is with you," he smiled at her, "Get to bed, Ms. Black, it's getting late. I don't think you'd want Professor Snape to find you out of bed past curfew."

Eris looked at the clock, and it was indeed much past curfew. She turned around to thank Professor Dumbeldore but he was gone, like he'd never even been there in the first place.

She quickly said goodnight to Hermione, promising she'd come back the next day as she left, hurrying to the slytherin common room.
