Sunny awakens to see his mother for the first time in a while, he sees her crying.
Sunny's mother: I have failed you as a mother
Sunny struggles to speak but says
Sunny: no you didn't..... it's my fault all of this
Sunny's mother looks up at him
Aubrey silently walks in
Sunny: I pushed mari..killing her
Sunny's mother has a pained look on her face and looks away
Sunny's mother: i.. I know sweetie
Both sunny and aubrey are shocked
Sunny/Aubrey: you knew
*Flashback*
*Sunny's father's pov*
Sunny's mother and father enter their house, it's dark but they see basil out back
They open the glass door and to their horror, they see mari's body hanging from a tree
The boys stood there frozen
Sunny's mother broke down crying
Sunny's mother: NOO... PLEASE GOD NOO....WHY
Sunny's father just stood there unable to move or react, then he slowly walked towards mari and got her down from the tree and broke down crying.
The police were called and the entire neighborhood gathered around the house as the paramedics took the body sunny's father noticed something multiple bruise marks all around his daughters body, but thought nothing of it.
A few days pass
The next few days the family was silent and as his father walked down the stairs he noticed something. The stairs were damaged like some thing fell down the and he also noticed the railing to be slightly pulled out. He walked to the bottom of the stairs to notice a slight red on the floor like there was blood but it was cleaned, not very good though.
*Small Timeskip*
after the funeral sunny's father remembered something important
2 weeks before the death of mari
He was sitting on the couch
Sunny's mother: hey mari did you move all of sunny's baby toys into the attic like I asked
Mari: yep sure did
Sunny's mother: did you remember to turn off the baby monitor
Mari: um yeah think so
Back to original flashback
Sunny's father rushes upstairs and to the attic, he digs through some boxes the he finds the baby monitor and runs down to his computer
The baby monitor in question records audio and saves it so the parents can go back to see if there was and disturbances.
Authors note: I don't know if that kind of thing exists but it does in this reality.
Sunny's father digs through the recordings and goes to the date mari died. He the listens to the argument and hears her fall down the stairs. He also hears basil's plan to cover it up and is livid, he walks out his room to sunny's room to find it locked.
Sunny's father: OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR SUNNY
sunny's mother runs upstairs
Sunny's mother: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HONEY
sunny's father grabs her and has her listen to the recording, she is horrified.
He leaves her and kicks sunny's door down pulling him out of bad throwing sunny into a wall sunny doesn't react much
Sunny's father: YOU LITTLE FUCKER, YOU THINK I WOULDN'T FIND OUT. YOU... YOU KILLED MY DAUGHTER
He then pulls sunny up and punches him down to the ground
Sunny's mother enters the room
Sunny's mother: STOP IT LOOK WHAT YOUR DOING TO MY BOY.
Sunny's father: YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID
Sunny's mother: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT HE DID NOTHING
Sunny's father was dumbfounded then realized what she was doing.
Sunny's father: YOUR IN DENIAL I WONT LET IT STAND
The two left the room and continued arguing in their room.
They shut the door so sunny couldn't hear them
Sunny's father: YOU SAW THE FUCKING EVIDENCE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.
Sunny's mother: no... there is nothing that can prove anything
Sunny's father is furious and walks off, he the pulls out an axe and walks to the backyard and starts cutting down the tree mari was hung on.
*Sunny pov*
Sunny leaves his room and hears his mother crying,
Sunny's mother: I can't lose you too sunny
then he walk downstairs and outside to see his father cutting down the tree
His father notices him
Sunny's father: you are not my son get out of my sight
Sunny looks down and leaves
A few days pass
Sunny's father got in contact with a detective and he is coming to their home to look at the evidence sunny's father found.
Sunny's father walks up to his room to look at the evidence and sees that both the computer and the baby monitor were completely destroyed.
Sunny's mother: your not taking away my only child I have left
Sunny's father: you... you.. YOU BITCH
He grabs her and slaps her to the ground then walks to sunny's room and grabs him
The detective exits his vehicle to hear screaming from they're house he barges in and sees sunny's father beating his son into the ground.
Detective raises his gun
Detective: FREEZE PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR
Sunny's father realizes the situation he's in
Sunny's father: uh ok look pal it's not what it loo-
He's knocked out by the detective and arrested
*End of Flashback*
Sunny's mother: I knew about what you did and I ignored it *she starts choking up* I let you suffer with guilt for so long, unable to even mention your sister, I... I just wanted to move on.
Sunny: I deserve this fate, I caused all of it.... everything is my fault
Aubrey: no *she says quietly
Sunny looks at her
Aubrey: you made a mistake... you shouldn't suffer some horrible fate you... you were a kid
Sunny is shocked
Aubrey: I forgive you sunny
Sunny smiles
Sunny: thank you
