i see fire

I see fire

Burning the trees

I see fire

Hollowing souls

I see fire

Blood in the breeze

After a few days of crashing at Nina’s I found an apartment for me. It was big enough for me and is far from qll of them.

I talked to my mom about it and we talked about some random things too. I learned that my dad told my mom everything. They don’t sleep in the same bed anymore. They talked it with a lawyer and my mom being my mom handled it all very well. Well I didn’t.

We chat about all the things in my new bachelor apartment. It was not that big. It was just enough for me but it was a bit lonely for me.

Few more days past. I had now adjusted to my new apartment. I came back to work and good heavens I haven’t bumped into my dad yet. But I saw dad’s secretary and she still works here. I wanted to tear her apart. Not sexually but like a murder her. I hated her. I hate how she had done that. I restrained myself at murdering her.

After few more days at staying in my new apartment, my mom called me one night when I was watching a good movie in the cable. She said that I should drive to my grandparent’s because their house is on fire. She is on an out of town but she told me she was on her way.

My grandparent’s house is a bit far from my apartment. I got my keys, got down and start my engine. I typed my grandparent’s address and the GPS screen said that the shortest route is about an hour from where I was.

I stepped on the gas and went on. I called my mom again and told her that I will be there in an hour or less. She was crying on the other line. Seems she knows something I didn’t.

I rushed over there making an hour of driving less that it should be. I saw the fire from afar. I saw the trees burning. I saw the auburn color of the fire eating up my grandparent’s home. As soon as my car stopped, I threw myself out and run towards the house.

Some firefighters held me and telling me not to go. I was calling for my grandma and a firefighter brought my grandma to me.

“Granny!” I screamed with glee when I saw her face, frightened at what was happening.

She is seeing her house burning, all of her things. I managed to ask her where grandpa was. She looked at me with misty eyes and began to cry again burying her head on my chest.

I looked at the house and saw it destroyed. The sky is filled with fire and smoke rising from it.

Few minutes more, the firefighters had done their job on putting out the fire but have not save any things from the house.

I saw my mom from the crowd and called her. She immediately ran and hugged her mom. They were crying and I both hugged them. I lead them to the ambulance for the medics to do what they should. One of the medics gave my mom and grandma some warm towel to wrap themselves up.

One of the firefighters went to us saying that they couldn’t rescue my grandpa. It was devastating. Knowing that my grandpa who had Alzheimer’s had died in this tragedy.

My grandma cried her eyes out. She love him with her life. I am sorry for her for losing her other half.

Desolation comes upon the sky.
