We keep this love in a photograph

We made these memories for ourselves

Where our eyes are never closing

Hearts are never broken

And time's forever frozen still

---

Nina made sure that my apartment was Ellie free. Well, first she handled all what I need to do. She got me back on track. Made me go back to work. Made me do everything I left behind. Well I was that scared at her.

She found me a new apartment far from Ellie and near to her. Nearer to my work and much more nearer to my family. She found a big kick ass apartment that was twice bigger than that of the first and much cheaper than that of the first. But for your information, money was never an issue for me.

She threw away everything that reminds me of Ellie, what she did is put pictures of my family on one of the walls may it be old or new pictures.

Nina is kind of into photography herself so what she did is to took pictures of things she thought I love and developed it and put it on the wall she said that was her canvass.

I made her do that. It was her little project and I let her invade my privacy. Just kidding. She took the liberty on playing interior designer on the new apartment. Well, being us, I trust her and I trust her designing skills.

I didn’t got to look or take a peek at her project even if I got to live in this apartment. She would always cover it with a cloth or papers or something.

But when she finished everything, she had a dramatic thing on giving it a ribbon cutting just for me.

She made me close my eyes even if her canvass was covered and everything.

“Cover your eyes.” she said giddy.

“Nina, my eyes are closed, your canvas is covered. Why should I cover my eyes?” I said.

“Tsss. Just do it.” she said bemused.

I shook my head in disbelief but still covered my eyes with my hands for her amusement.

“One. Two. Three. You can now open them.” she said amused again and when I open my eyes I saw a beautiful artwork. I saw her beautiful artwork.

If you could see the walls of my apartment, it was collaged by thousands of memories. Hundreds of pictures. Few people I love and handful of colors. It was beautiful.

“This is beyond beautiful Nina.” I said.

“There is one more picture missing.” She said.

“What?” I looked at her and she was now holding a Polaroid camera. She leaned her body on mine and held the camera up as if she was taking a selfie or rather a duofie (my self-invented word for a picture with someone).

“Smile.” She said but all I did was looked at her as she smiled for the camera.

A photo paper appeared on the bottom of the camera. She took it and did the liberty to fan herself with it. When the picture has appeared she took a moment to look at it.

“Hey, you aren’t looking in the camera, but I look good in here so I think this will do.” She said. She took some of the glue and put it behind the picture. She put it on a space that the picture was meant to be and she suddenly had a sharpie at hand and put something on the picture. I took a moment to look at it and read what she wrote.
