They were on the outskirts of where wall Maria once stood, on a mountain that overlooked the kingdom of Paradis Island. The advisor sent by Queen Historia led the alliance In the mountain where a cabin was located. the Alliance would be staying for a while.

The alliance brought their belongings to their assigned rooms, unpacking as they were going to stay for awhile in the cabin until things in the headquarters of Queen Historia's palace settled.

The alliance spent the day preparing to make a burial for Eren to lay at rest. Once they buried the body of Eren, they gathered around to say their last bids of farewell to Eren

Everyone gathered around the tombstone, only Mikasa was in full funeral attire and the red scarf she once abandoned, was now wrapped around her neck for Eren's funeral. The rest of them wore their usual scouts clothes.

Hange gave a short speech and Levi stood there silently. Once Hange was done giving her speech, they remained grieving in silence. Mikasa took a step forward and everyone's eyes were on her watching her every move but she remained poise and emotionless. She walked toward the tombstone flowers in hand, and gently knelt down to put the flowers on the grave. She walked back to her spot and looked down at the grave. Throughout the ceremony, Jean eyes was locked on Mikasa trying to figure out why she was so unemotional and dead why she could possibly contain her emotions when a while back in Marley the day she killed Eren, she ran to Armin's arms and cried uncontrollably that it seemed nothing would console her. But it could be the reason why now she was so indifferent because she cried it all out that no tears remained. But he knew better than to be fooled by Mikasa's masked coldness and indifference, he knew her well enough that she was masking her true emotions in front of everyone as if she wasn't fazed by his death anymore. He just wanted her to grief in a healthy way without her restraining herself. His eyes held pain, he averted his gaze from her and looked down at the ground knowing if he gazed at her for too long he'd be unable to restrain himself.
"it's time to head inside and discuss our meeting with Historia. Levi said. He glanced at Mikasa scanning her face. To Mikasa he said, "You can take as much time as you want." He patted her shoulder in a comforting gesture and took his leave. Hange was behind him, her saddened eyes gazed into hers and she gave her a sweet comforting smile. Hange followed right behind him.
Connie was next. "I-" He paused, not knowing the right words to comfort Mikasa." I'm sorry Mikasa. I know how it feels to lose someone very dear to you. We had no choice but to-" Connie hesitated to continue, wary of how Mikasa would react

"It's fine." Only a few words escaped her lips. Her monotone voice sent Connie chills through his spine. He awkwardly patted her shoulder and quickly left after that.
Only Jean, Armin and Mikasa stayed behind, they were still in the eerie place where Eren's body lay buried underground. Jean silently studied Mikasa having the urge to hold her hands, to console her but he was afraid to act on it. Instead of getting closer to her, he would only repel her away from him and he was afraid he'd ruin the friendship and trust they had built recently. He could only care for her from a distance, a distance where she was unreachable and untouchable.
"We did what had to be done. Armin, Mikasa. You both are strong for doing the impossible and I can't fathom being in the situation where I had to kill the one person important to me. We did it for humanity and I'm certain that Eren is in a better place with his parents at his side" Armin gave a sad yet grateful smile to Jean which in return he did the same. Jean then averted his eyes to Mikasa who was preoccupied in looking down at Eren's tomb, paying no mind to his presence. His smile disappeared. "Well. I'm heading to the cabin, I'll see you both there." He shoved his hands in the pockets of his brown coat and made his way towards the cabin.

Armin looked around to see if they were by themselves. He looked around the open meadow that was covered in evergreen trees, it all looked the same. The only difference that distinguished the place was the cherry blossom trees. Eren's tomb was under the same cherry blossom trees. After confirming that they were alone, he spoke
"Mikasa, ever since Eren's death you haven't talked nor have you cried again, I'm worried about you." Ever since Eren's death Mikasa became mute, never once speaking or uttering a single word to anyone, not even with Armin."I'm fine. I just need some time alone" She said coldly. "I can't leave you alone, let me stay with you at least"
"Armin, please...leave me be." She said, hugging herself tightly. Armin threw a sympathetic look to her direction, lifting his arm, he placed his hand on her shoulder. She shrugged off his affectionate gesture." I said leave!" She lashed out."I want to be alone..." She muttered out softly tightening her hold around her arm. Armin stood there taken aback by Mikasa's sudden outburst. For as long as Armin has known her, he had never seen her lose her composure and be this emotional . She had a reason to be feeling this way but he couldn't help but take it personal. His fingers curled into a fist, his face contorted with pain and hurt. "All I wanted to do was to help you but seeing that you want me gone, I'll leave" Armin stormed off angrily into the patch of woods that led to the cabin. Mikasa had a guilty expression written on her face knowing she hurt Armin but she just wanted to be alone for once, alone with him.

Jean was leaning against the wooden door, he had his arm crossed and was looking off into the forest. He spotted Armin coming out from behind the trees without Mikasa. He straightened his posture looking rather concerned, Armin walked up the stairs and was met with a curious gaze.
