It was the coming spring in Hizuru. Mikasa had yet to feel accustomed to the new place she had felt would be a great start to her soul searching journey.

It was in a koi pond where she had met a man similar to Eren with the difference being that he had slanted almond shaped eyes with tanned skin. He also had long dark brown hair that rippled down past his shoulders, and brown dreamy eyes. He wore flamboyant robes,  covering all but the chest area exposing his toned muscles. He approached Mikasa first in the bridge where the koi pond was under.

They became friendly only because the man gave Mikasa a sense of familiarity. She would take a break from her duties as a royal in the palace of Hizuru to stay in this place from the busy palace to clear her mind. It was a place she felt connected and closer to nature. Whether it was coincidence or not, the two of them would stumble upon each other and keep each other company, bonding and sharing over the love they have for nature. Mikasa excused herself ready to leave when the tall tanned man that she didn't know the name of yet called to her.

"Ma'am."

She turned around.

"Yes what is it?"

"I find it rude that I don't know your name despite meeting here almost every week, would you mind sharing it with me?"

"Ah right. My name is Mikasa." She answered the man, bowing to him as she held her junihitoe silky robes.

"I'm Katsuro Endo." He grabbed her hand, and kissed her hand delicately as he looked up at her with a charming smile which made her heart flutter a bit in her chest.

"The next time I meet you in this pond, I have a surprise to show you, princess."  He got up from the kneeling position, and strided off into the garden, leaving Mikasa in a curious state wondering what the man will show her next time they meet.

She left too, coming upon the palace that made her feel suffocated. She didn't understand why she accepted the position as a princess. Maybe it was the fact that, she wanted to try something new so she could preoccupy herself from the things she had left behind from her homeland. Even then, the duties of being a royal was consuming and overwhelming her, she felt too out of place to consider this place a home yet.

She looked out into the sea from her palace. She knew why she came all this way, she was running away from the very thing that was catching up to her, her destiny that was calling her back, she could feel invisible strings tug her to the place she kept running away from, the place that also held her first lover's body. She then turned her face, peering away from the direction of her homeland, the more she looked across the sea, the more she felt compelled to run forward and swim across the sea to get to the place she vowed to never to go back to.

It was all of the past anyway, she forcefully brushed it off,  her future was to be in this place she tried telling herself that.

The day of visiting the koi pond rolled around, she arrived at the location, subtly eagerly awaiting the arrival of the man she came to like the presence of. As she awaited, she was holding onto the railings of the bridge, looking down at the koi pond, she saw her reflection, the ornaments placed along her ebony hair, she didn't seem to recognize the reflection of herself, she looked like she didn't belong there.

"Greetings to the princess of Hizuru." The man appeared next to her, she was taken a back from his sudden appearance, looking at him like a damsel. "You were looking at your reflection, are you surprised by your own beauty?" The handsome man chuckled, charmingly,

"I'm not used to this look, I look like an entirely different person."

"Your beauty usurps to royalty, It befits you perfectly." The man seemed to try too soothe her insecurity.
