Midvale

Kara Pov

    Jason walked in, he set the food down and went straight to bed. He looked distraught, his hair was a bit messy and his shirt wrinkled. His eyes were red with tears. I put the food in the fridge and went to bed with Jason, putting my arms around him. He's been under so much stress lately, I was too with the baby, just not as much as Jason. I fell asleep after Jason.

Jason Pov

    I was in the dream world again. I hadn't liked this place for as long as I could remember, I didn't have dreams anymore, only nightmares. I saw Kara in her suit. She was attacking me, I was watching from third person. “You left me, how could you do that. we have a child, and you left me-'' I was cut off by being shaken awake. I saw someone and my hand flew to their neck, choking them. They were tapping my arm for release. I looked into their eyes and fear and panic filled mine as I let go of my grip seeing Kara, She was gasping for air, I walked away.

    I was pacing, my hands running through my hair, this was a habit I developed in foster care when I had anxiety about my parents. I hadn’t done it in a while, but now a million thoughts are racing through my mind. “Im sorry, no what have I done, please forgive me, don't leave me, don't come any closer” They all shouted as they were rattling through my mind. “Shut up!” I yelled out loud at my own thoughts, Kara came in. “No Don't come closer,” I said. “Jason, please” Kara begged. I kept my arms down so as not to alarm her. “Kare please, take Alex to Midvale'' I ordered. “Jason, let me help'' Kara begged and pleaded. “No! I'm a danger to you, leave, take Alex to midvale, please!” I yelled and Kara left.

    I collapsed on the floor of the empty apartment, coughing and gagging, and also crying, all things I do when I have an anxiety or panic attack. “What have I done?” I scolded myself, I layed down like a baby on the cold laminate flooring and cried. 

Kara Pov

    I just left, I went to Alex’s and knocked, it was morning. Alex answered and let me in. I sat on her couch. She saw the bruises on my neck.

“Jesus Kara, what happened”
“Alien”
“Kara, you suck at lying”
“It was Jason”
“What happened, The Jason I know wouldn't hurt you”
“He got home last night, didn't talk to me, just went straight to bed. I woke him up cause it sounded like he was having a nightmare, then he choked me out. He saw who I was and then immediately let me go. He walked out, It looked like he wasn't himself.”
“I'm gonna go beat his ass”
“Dont Alex, he's just been under a lot of stress lately, the pregnancy, the crisis, etc”

    I realized the apartment was empty besides me and Alex.

“Where's Maggie”
“We broke up"
"What! Why!?"
"I saw you and Jason happy about your kid, Made me realize I wanted to be a mom, Maggie didn't."
"We should go to Midvale"
"What"
"Were going to midvale, come on"

    I took Alex to John's car and we drove to Midvale to see Eliza. I knocked on the door and Eliza answered. "Girls!" She said excitedly and we all hugged, Eliza let us in and we sat down in the living room.

"What brings you by?"
"Relationship struggles"
"Oh, I'm sorry about you and Maggie Alex"
"Yeah"
"You and Jason doing okay"
"Yep, were pregnant"
"Ah, i'm so happy"

    Alex went and got a drink, Eliza asked me something while Alex was gone.

"What happened to your neck?"
"Supergirl stuff"
"Don't lie"
"Jason, he did not abuse me, he was just startled when I woke him up from a nightmare, he let go the second he realized it was me"
"Ok, just be careful Kara"
"I will be"

    Alex came back, she got drunk and I went and sat on the backyard porch, looking at the beach, the splash of the waves calming me. I was thinking about Jason, I was gonna go back to him after the trip. I know he didn't hurt me on purpose. I wondered what he was doing right now.
