Date Night

Jason Pov

    I left and sped. "We need to talk!" I yelled, the monitor opened a portal. I went through it.

"Jason"
"What happens, to Kara, what happens with Savitar"

    The monitor showed me a vision. I saw that night again. Kara got stabbed, then I saw myself at her funeral. "No, that can't be it" I said and the vision faded.

"What can I do"
"I dont know"
"What about Crisis, what happens"
"It still happens, I think"
"What about-"
"I don't have all the answers to your questions"

    I left and went home and sat back in my old seat.

"What happened"
"The future changed"
"I die, don't I"
"Yes"
"After or before the baby is born"
"Before"
"Oh Rao"
"Yeah"
"Is it Savitar"
"I won't let you die Kara, I won't"
"I know, you'll do great"
"I have to"

    I kissed Kara, She moved to the couch and I heard a knock at the door. I answered and found all the furniture Kara ordered. I brought it in. "You still want to do it?" I asked, Kara nodded and I used my speed to set everything up, I ran and got some books and comics and stuffed animals and toys, everything else we needed. Kara came in and saw it all. "It looks amazing," Kara complimented. I put my arms around her waist. "You look amazing," I said and kissed her. "You wanna go on a date, it's been a while" I asked, Kara smiled. "I'd love to," Kara said. 

    We both spent the next hour getting ready. I walked Kara out and we went to an arcade. "Nothing wrong with a good old arcade date" I said. "Nope" Kara agreed. I got us game cards and we went to a game. "Bet i'll beat you in a skee ball" Kara teased. "Your on" I replied and we went, I made all of mine in the 100 pocket. I looked at Kara, she got 830 points. "I got a thousand" I said. "No fair" Kara replied, she then went to 'Dance Dance Revolution' and she played it. "Beat that," Kara said. "You're too competitive," I said and then I took my turn. I chose 'Cooler Than Me' by Mike Posner. I danced, hitting all perfects or goods, mainly perfect.

    I stepped off, Kara looked at my score in disbelief. "Is that good?" I asked. "It's great, have you ever played this before?" Kara asked, I shook my head. "That's impossible," Kara said. "I am impossible," I said, winking. I grabbed Kara's hand and led her to another game I liked. It was a terminator shooter game. "Oh, that's gruesome," Kara said. "It's fun, grab the gun and start shooting" I said and Kara got the other rifle.

    I activated the game for us and we started shooting. I got a majority of the robots. Kara was laughing the whole time. "Who knew this was so fun" Kara asked. "I know right," I said and then the game ended. Me and Kara spent the next two hours playing games, we counted up our tickets. "Okay, let's get something for each other," Kara said. "Okay, I got an idea" I said and we both went off to get prizes. I got something for Kara, a stuffed animal for Nora and some candy with the leftover tickets.

    I met up with Kara. "Show on three. One, Two, Three" Kara said. I pulled a Supergirl action figure and she pulled out a Flash action figure. We both laughed. "I shoulda known" Kara said. "I love it" She added. "I also got this," I said and pulled out the action figure. "For the baby" I finished and handed it to Kara. "They'll love it," Kara said. "You wanna grab dinner?" I asked. "Sure" Kara said and we walked to Noonan's. Me and Kara talked along the way, and I got us a table.

"Remember what happened here"
"This is the place we got to know each other"
"Yep"
"Its kinda nostalgic, haven't been here in a while"
"Yeah, it has been"
"So, got anymore leads on Savitar"
"Let's leave work talk for later"
"Okay"
"So, what are you, a month or two along, right?
"Yep, a month and a half, few more weeks and Alex can find out the gender"
"That's great"
"Your aleady doing great at being a dad Jason"
"Thanks, means a lot, my dad couldn't always he there for me, so im gonna do my best to be there for our kid"
"I know you will"
"It's nice to get out, really get out I mean"
"Yeah, how are things at the DEO?"
"They're okay, been boring recently, what about Catco"
"Ms. Grant promoted me today"
"That's great, why didn't you tell me yet"
"Never came up. She only promoted me because of me having to take maternity leave soon"
"Yeah, i'm really happy for you"
"Thanks"

    Kara and I finished dinner and then went home. I took off my jacket and Kara sat on the couch. "Do you want anything to drink?" I asked. "Orange juice would be great," Kara replied. I ran out and got two jugs of orange juice. "Perks of your husband having super speed" I said, pouring her a glass. I grabbed a tea from the fridge and sat down next to Kara. "Thank you" She said and kissed me on the cheek. I sat in silence, watching the movie Kara put on. I hummed my song 'Runnin' Home To You' without even knowing. "I love that song," Kara said. "It took a while to write," I replied. "Didnt you start that before we got together?" Kara asked. "Maybe, I had a feeling we'd become more than friends" I said. "You were right, my scarlet speedster," Kara said, leaning into me farther. "Good to know, girl of steel," I said with a grin. Kara kissed me and we went to bed.
