I get to the gym after leaving Rachel's but I'm definitely not feeling a workout right now.
I know that if I want to be with her, the topic of parents will come up properly and we have have to talk more in depth about it.
Was I ready for that?
Was I ready to tell her my secret?I never had to talk to my one night-stands about my sketchy past.
I walk into the gym, bypassing all the machines and head straight to the punching bags. I need to just forget for a while.
After a couple of hours, I am sweating and done, but the punching bag worked. I feel better. Instead of heading towards the showers, I grab my swimming shorts out of my bag and head for the gyms swimming pool.
Back at home, I am sitting at my work desk in my office checking a few work emails, when my phone beeps next to me. I pick it up and smile when I see Rachel's name pop up.
I shake my head at myself.
Getting giddy over a text message, Jack, pull yourself together.* I'm willing to make a
go of this... but only if
you woo me. R x *Woo her?
I instantly reply,* Woo you? J x *
* Yes. Take me out
properly like a real
couple. Don't treat me
like one of your bimbos. R x ** You could never EVER be
a bimbo. You're on. Let me
know when you are next
free and let the wooing
commence. J x *I chuckle at my phone.
I'm definitely not the flowers and hearts romance kind of guy but I will give it a go. If it means getting the gorgeous Rachel as a prize. The next morning, I pull up outside of the coffee shop in my Ferrari and head inside.
The pixie girl, Kate, gives a little squeak as I walk up to the counter."Hello, Kate. Nice to see you again. I will take an Americano please." I ask her politely.
Kate looks up at me with wide eyes and smiles nervously, "O... k. Rachel is in the back; would you like me to get her?"
"Yes and make her one of her favourite drinks please. What is that by the way?"
"A latte with chocolate sprinkles."
"Great. And get a drink for yourself too. Here... keep the change as a tip." I tell her, pushing a £50 note towards her.
"This is too much, sir." Kate gasps.
"Take it. It's my apology for being rude to you the first time we met. And please, call me Jack."
Kate blushes, "Thank you so much."
I give her one of my knicker-dropping smiles before sitting down at one of the closest tables to the counter, while Kate runs into the back room.
No doubt telling Rachel exactly how nice I have been to her.A minute later, Rachel appears with Kate close behind her, brushing down her pencil skirt and tucking her long, flowing brunette hair behind one ear.
"Jack. What a pleasure." She smiles at me.
Kate busies herself making the coffees as Rachel comes to sit opposite me.
"The pleasure is all mine, believe me." I greet her, touching her hand with my finger softly.
She visibly shivers as Kate hurries over with our coffees.
"Thank you." Rachel beams at her.
"Thank you, Kate."
She blushes again, "You're welcome." She murmurs and heads back to the counter.
"How are you this morning?" I ask Rachel.
"Absolutely fine. How about you?"
"I was missing a gorgeous, brunette, coffee shop own in my bed this morning." I pout but my eyes sparkle at her.
Now it's Rachel's turn to blush, "You know that I can't stay over because of Isla."
"Do you know when you are next free?"
"Maybe you could come round to the house and I could cook us something?" She offers.
"That sounds perfect. I will bring the condoms."
"Jack!" Rachel gasps but giggles. "Dinner only. Woo me remember?"
"We will see about that. I better get off to work, but I will call you later to sort out a time, yeah?"
My phone starts to ring on the table and Cheryl's name flashes up. I see Rachel quickly glance down at my phone before looking away just as quickly.
Damn.
I cut off the call instantly and shove my phone back into my pocket.
Rachel clears her throat, "Sounds good. Have a good day."
"You will be on my mind all day, baby." I tell her.
I stand up and lean over to kiss her softly on the forehead before leaving.
