One week later...

"Have you ended things with him?" A voice speaks next to me, making me jump.

I've been so anxious and jumpy since the abduction a week ago. I gasp and grip my bag to my chest, spinning around to see Marcus.

His face is still a mess from the beating that Jack had given him. He has two black eyes that have faded a little bit still looked a mess, a busted nose and a split lip that's healing.

"I have nothing to say to you." I tell him, turning around.

"Did you dump him? You know what he did to me." He repeats.

"That's none of your business, Marcus. Goodbye." I tell him, walking up the street a little.

"Can I see Isla?" He calls after me.

I spin around again, "She's at school."

"I meant after school. Maybe I could pick her up and take her out for tea?"

"She barely knows who you are, Marcus. She will be scared."

"I want to be in her life more. She is my daughter, after all."

I laugh, "Eight years too late."

"Rach?" I hear another voice. His voice.

I spin around again. All this spinning and I am going to get dizzy. I come face to face with Jack standing a few feet away from me. Jack looks past me to see Marcus and instantly flares with anger.

"What the fuck do you want? I told you to stay away from her." Jack calls out to Marcus and he quickly joins me by my side.

"You know it wasn't me they abducted her! I just want to see my daughter." Marcus argues.

"I'm not going to repeat myself." Jack states.

"And I'm not going to listen to a fist-happy criminal!"

Jack's jaw tenses and he fists his hands as he glares at Marcus, "I suggest you fuck off right now."

"Jack, just leave it." I beg him, placing my hand on his bulging forearm.

"This isn't over." Marcus mutters.

"You're damn right it isn't. I have no problem beating the shit out of you again. Come on, Rach." Jack pulls me closer towards him and turns with me before practically dragging me up the street.

"Does he know where you live?" Jack asks me as we get to my house.

"Yes, I've lived there since Isla was born."

"What's the likelihood of him turning up here?"

"He's all talk so I would say unlikely, but you can never be too sure with Marcus."

"Good. I'm moving in though."

I stumble into my house as I unlock the door and spin around to face him, "M... move in?" I splutter.

"Yes." Jack replies firmly.

"I don't think that's necessary."

"You told me he's a bad guy."

"He's got a temper." I admit.

"Then it's necessary, Rachel. End of."

"I will call you straight away if he shows up." I persist.

"Rach, you were abducted last week by a crazy fucking psycho bitch, so if you think I'm leaving you alone again, think again. I know I've been here every day protecting your but now I am moving in. Like I said end of." Jack argues.

"I need to think about Isla."

"That's all I'm doing. Thinking about you and Isla." Protecting you. Cheryl has gone but Marcus hasn't. I won't have you here alone."

I sigh, realising that he isn't going to give up, "Ok. Let's move in together "

Jack beams, "Great." He pulls me into his arms and swings me around. "I will never let anything happen to you ever again."
