A ship pulls into the nook of Blackwater Bay. It could fit 100 men, at least. A single departure boat sails onto the shore with but two people on board. One would think multiple boats would follow but that's not so. The water around the ship is not its usual murky blue. No, it's red. Blood red. On the ship, dead bodies are scattered around the deck, in the cabins, chambers, anywhere one could go, bodies lay. A person is swimming in the water. He has a wound on his neck, a bite mark. Before he knows it, he's picked up out of the water.

"Where do you think you're going, my friend?" Klaus Mikaelson asks rhetorically. The man tries to scream but he's cut off... literally. His head now floats in the water, staining it with red blood. Klaus drops the rest of the body and licks his fingers clean.

When Klaus was born, he was born of werewolf and witch descent. His mother was a witch and his father a werewolf. When his mother, Esther, had turned him and his siblings into vampires and suppressed their witch abilities, Klaus became the first hybrid. He was then a mix of a vampire and a werewolf. This was an abomination towards nature so Esther put a curse on him: The Hybrid Curse. This kept his wolf abilities dormant.

"Are you sure she's here?" he asks the second person on the boat.

"I'm sure, Niklaus. We compelled an entire village to find her," Elijah Mikaelson (Klaus's half-brother) answers. "She's here. And our father is far away. You have my word." He cleans his hands with the shirt of a fallen body.

They get off the boat and start walking. In the distance, the Red Keep can be seen. The shiny sandstone buildings stand tall overlooking the rest of King's Landing. "Where are we?" Klaus questions.

"It appears we are in Westeros which would be west," Elijah replies. "Up there," he points to the Red Keep, "is King's Landing. The capital of Westeros. There, we will find Katerina Petrova, the doppelganger."

Katerina Petrova is the last known doppelganger of the Petrova line. She also one of the five components needed to break the Hybrid Curse - the moonstone, a witch, a werewolf, a vampire, and a Petrova doppelganger to sacrifice. The Mikaelson brothers had just tracked her down to King's Landing.

Klaus and Elijah follow Kingsroad to get to Kings Landing. On their way, they indulge in some of the locals - knights, merchants, commonfolk, anyone they see. Finally, they reach the gates. Posing their victims, the two make their way into Fleebottom, the poorest area of Kings Landing. They see children and adults alike, dirty and dressed in rags. The children are working. They call out to the passerby trying to sell food. The baker's son sells bread. Fishermens' kids sell fish. And so on. Adults work as blacksmiths, carpenters, tailors, stonemasons, etc. Some children even take on these jobs to help support their families.

They come across a group of people all huddled around a woman in a red robe. She is a worshipper of the Lord of Light. Those like her worship fire. "The Lord of Light has sent Daenerys Targaryen to us to fix this world..." she preaches. "She is a reincarnate of the Lord. She is the Dragon Queen." Klaus rolls his eyes. Never in his 300 years of being on Earth has he seen a dragon. These fanatics are insane. They're posted every few blocks talking to crowds of as many people as they can.

The two walk further into wealthier parts of town. Less red women are on the streets here. People are dressed nicer. Some wear silk clothes while others are dressed in leather. They decide to stop here and find a home. Klaus walks into a townhouse. There is a family of four inside: a mother, father, boy, and girl. "This is my home now," Klaus compels them. "Leave." The family does so.

"Home sweet home..." Elijah says not convinced. The home is decorated with little furniture but it has two bedrooms and a bathroom. It will suffice. After all, they don't plan on staying very long.

Klaus lays on the bed, legs crossed and arms behind his head. "If you were Katerina, where would you be, brother?" he calls out.

"Nowhere near you Niklaus," Elijah jokes. His brother is history's most ruthless killer. When being turned, Esther's intentions were to make the Mikaelsons immortal. However, nature found a balance and cursed them with bloodlust. Only life and can pay for life. The bloodlust grew out of control of course, and that started the definition of a vampire. Over the years, he and his siblings got better at control but it was too late. They had become bloodsucking 'monsters'.

Suddenly, Elijah hears a commotion outside. Klaus hears it too. He walks out of the room and they look at each other before vamping out of the house.

Ten men in golden armor march down the streets. A few talk to the locals. Once the two brothers come outside, everyone turns to stare. The men come to a halt. They are knights. A fisherman is standing by them. Katerina Petrova is there too. She is dressed as a commoner right outside and is talking to one of the soldiers and other locals. Her tone is friendly and kind. It seems like she knows many of them. Klaus makes his way over to her when he's stopped by one of the knights.

"Is the one?" the knight asks. The fisher nods and points to Elijah as well. The men surround Klaus and Elijah. "An entire ship was murdered at Blackwater Bay and you were the last to be seen there. I'm afraid you'll have to come with me."

"I thought you said you were going to be discrete Niklaus..." Elijah whispers, looking around. There was a crowd now so they couldn't kill them all without making a scene. And scenes lead to Mikael, their father.

"I may have slipped..."

Katerina is long gone by now. The soldiers escort the two to a dungeon and leave them there. The dungeon is cell is about 10 square feet and is guarded 24/7 by men. Klaus gives a mischievous smile as he waves to the soldier leaving.
