Lily was supposed to be dead.
Why wasn't she?
Perhaps the blows weren't strong enough.
Pain stung all over her body as she got out of the water and walked onto the beach. This beach smelled familiar; she knew she was back on Sundown Island. But she didn't care about that right now.
Why am I here? She wondered. Why did they attack me?
Water dripped from her fur as she stood on the sand. She went over to the water and looked down at her reflection.
And what she saw looking back at her was not an image she'd ever see when she thought of herself.
Instead of a beautiful she-wolf that every unattractive male back home had wanted as a mate, Lily saw a tattered wolf with matted fur and scars looking back at her.
Lily shook off the feeling and walked farther onto the island.
Eventually she got to the desert and walked into the pyramid. She walked past the huge Lord Scorchis statue and down the steps into the prison.
She laid down next to a couple wolves, who looked at her as if they felt bad for her.
Lily sat and thought. Maybe it'd be best if she kept on exploring. She may not look the way she used to, but she still shouldn't give up. Her home was still somewhere, waiting for her.
She got up, ran towards the edge of the island, and jumped into the water. She swam. She didn't know where she was going, but she was about to find out. Hopefully, it led her somewhere useful, and hopefully, she didn't end up back in Wild Territory.
