Chapter 26 - Getting Caught

(Y/n) POV

I wake up and pull myself out of bed. Walking out of my room, I went downstairs and saw that everyone else was up. The group greeted me and started to make us breakfast. The group eats, and everyone packs up and leaves. However, before Momo left, I quickly asked her for something. She happily made it for me (Sorry about rushing this part. I want to get to the important stuff).

After a few hours of scrolling, I came across an article that caught my eye, "Breaking New: Hero Attacked in Hosu City by the Hero Killer Stain". Hero Killer? Looking him up, I found out that he was killing some smaller heroes. He kills a few heroes in a city before moving on to another. Hmm... So he's probably going to stay in Hosu. Sending the article to my Dad, I continued with my relaxing.

After ten minutes, he replied, "Seems interesting... Try finding out as much as you can about him".

"Ight", I spent the rest of the morning and the afternoon doing nothing. Once I finished the dinner that I order, I got ready for another night of spying.

Changing into my regular outfit, I said goodbye to Milo and headed off. After getting to one of my usual spots, I sat down and scanned the building a while away from me. Most of the lights were on, and I wiped out my binoculars. Looking closer, I saw that there was no one in the building. Usually, Hawks was the last one there but, it's too early for that.

While staring at the building in wonder, I didn't notice a figure walking up behind me. "You need better hiding spots", a voice said. Whirling around, I saw Hawks standing in front of me with an unamused look. "I recommend you not struggle", he grabbed the back of my hoodie and dragged me to the edge of the building. "I might drop you, but you can catch yourself".

He pushed off the roof and started flying in the air. I froze and tried to swallow my fear. Thankfully it was a short ride, and I landed safely on the balcony of Hawk's agency. He landed behind me and grabbed my arm. Pulling me inside, he shoved me onto one of his chairs right in front of his desk. He leaned against his desk and looked down at me. My whole body was shaking while we sat in silence. Then Hawks said, "I'm just going to go straight to the point". After saying that, he picked a file from his desk and opened it. "What is (Y/n) Dent doing stalking me?".

"I... I...". I looked over to the side while I tried to think of something, anything. F*ck! He found out! I'm so dumb! While trying to think, he grabbed my face and forced me to look into his eye.

"Well? I don't have all night".

"I... I, was told to get information on you".

"By who?".

"The league of villains".

"Why are you working with the league of villains?".

"Cause... Cause they said that they would hurt my family".

"Why would you be worried? They're pro heroes".

"You must have since what they did to All Might". To add to the effect, I started to cry.

"Ahhh... Sh*t", he mumbled. He leaned over while pulled me into a hug and rubbed small circles on my back.

Leaning into hawks, I wrap my arms around him. Dang, Hawk's jacket is super soft. I understand why he wears this all the time.

"It's going to be okay", He pulled away from me and now has a concerned look on his face. Sitting down on his desk, he leaned down and looked at me, "So how did this all start".

Oh my gosh, that worked?!"Well... One day, I had just gotten here and was looking around the city when someone snuck up behind me and knocked me out... I ended up waking up somewhere with the head of the league of villains standing in front of me... He told me that he needs me to get information on some of the top heroes... because I could easily travel. He told me that he would go after my family if I didn't help him. I agreed, and he knocked me out again, and I woke up back where I was before". Gosh... That was a terrible lie. I started to cry in the hope that it would distract him.

He gently grabbed my face and wiped some of the tears away. "Hey, it's going to be okay. I'm going to help you get out of this".

"Thank... you".

"Your welcome, and here", he turned around to his desk and wrote something down. "Here's my number in case you ever need help". I took the paper and put it into my pocket. "It's pretty late; you should be getting home".

"Yeah".

"Do you need a lift?".

"Yeah", the two of us walk onto his balcony. Having him know where I live is probably a bad idea. He's going to learn where I live; however, now he's going to help me. I'm not going to lie; I want to fly. He crouched down, and I hopped on his back. He started to flap his wings, and the two of us soar off the ground.

The two of us fly through the night sky as I look up. Hawks seem to have noticed my amazement and flew up higher. At that point, I could touch some of the low-level clouds. The clouds didn't feel like anything, but it was still amazing. He giggled as I said, "this is the best piggyback ride ever". We continued to fly over the city in the direction of my house, and then I realize, "how do, know where I live?".

"I did some research on you".

"WHAT! WHY?".

"I thought that you were a villain".

"Okay... But that's pretty creepy".

"You know what's creepy? Your fan club. Those guys are intense. I was looking you up, and your fans know a lot about you, from your blood type to the second you were born".

"How? I don't even know that!". After a moment of silence, I decided to ask, "Are your fans as crazy as mine".

"I know some are, but none of them can find anything".

"Dang, lucky".

The two of us continue to talk until we reach my house. Landing safely in my backyard, I climbed off his back and started to head back inside. "Thanks for the ride", I said.

"Yeah, just remember if you need any help, then just call me". I nod and head inside while Hawks flies away.

Hawks POV

As I, speeding home, I started to figure out my thoughts. She was 100% lying about something; however, I don't know what. I know someone is forcing her to do this but is it the league of villains? If it is the league, then what would they want with her? Hmmm... Guess I have to do some more digging.

I landed back at my agency and grabbed my file about her:

(Y/n) Dent

Age: 16, Sex: Female, Born in New York City. When to (school) private school. She has a teleporting quirk.

I sigh as I throw the file back down. "Uuhh! I need something more. All I'm getting is random facts and creepy comments". Then something clicked. I sat down at my desk and started to look up:

Andrew Dent: Number 2 Hero.

After a bit of digging, I was able to find out some basic facts. Andrew went to one of the best hero schools in the US, and there he met his wife Venus or better known as the pro hero Aphrodite.
