Chapter 54 - Villain Fight

Missing school is always a win, but missing school to do hero work is even better. The day before, Amajiki had introduced Kirishima and me to Fat Gum, and we both got an internship. The next day, we had to get up early to leave for Fat Gum's agency. Once we got off the train, Fat Gum was waiting for us in normal clothes. He ran up to the three of us and showed us around the city.

The beginning of the day was a whirlwind. A lot was being thrown at Kirishima and me. We frantically tried to keep up. Meeting side kids. Looking around the agency. Filling through hero requests. And more behind the scene hero stuff, which was boring but helpful. Well, at least for me.

After a while, things finally settled down Fat Gum announced we were going on patrol. Kirishima and I jumped up, "YEAH!"

"Go get changed," Fat Gum said as he left. Both of us ran to our separate rooms and changed. Blasting out less than five minutes later, we meet up with Amajiki wearing his hero costume. Amajiki could barely look at us as we waited for Fat Gum. He soon joined us, and we walked out of the agency. We seated out into the street and started our patrol.

"Can't eat enough to keep up. Anyways agencies around here we were wanting a close corner combat tip. We used to have more guys, but a lot of them got hurt in an accident," Fat Gum said as he turned to Kirishima. "So, you just want the doctor ordered, Red Riot."

Kirishima smiled, "I promise, I'll do my best. Four Kind doesn't accept work-study students, so I really appreciate you taking me on."

Amajiki mumbled, "If only Mirio had been around." I giggled at the memory of Kirishima and I begging Amajiki to get us this internship. "Man, your persistent was terrify."

"We're going to work on those delicate nerves of your Tamaki, and then you'll be worth your weight in gold."

"Your expectations only drag me deeper into despair. It's always like this. I am sure he only scouted me to have someone to torment. I wanna go home."

"Maybe, he's trying to encourage you. That's what mentors are supposed to do, right?"

"I'm not like you two or Mirio. Positivity's not my strong suit."

"Hey man, I know how it is. Sometimes when things get crazy, I feel useless too. There's a gap between me and my classmate that keeps growing wider. But I'm doing my best to close that gap. So I can fight beside them."

"Right there. That's what's called positivity, first year."

"THEY'RE FIGHTING! SOMEONE HELP!" Someone shouted from behind us.

A group of villains ran out from an alley and into the street. They were yelling about trying to make ends meet. Before they could get too far into the street, Fat Gum lounged out in front of them. He pressed the villains into his stomach. That has to hurt both parties.

One got away, but before Kirishima and I could do anything. Amajiki captures the dude using his quirk. After the guy was caught he insulted Amajiki, which he took quite personally.

"The guy is are a dirtbag loser! Don't let him get to you!"

"Yeah! Don't listen to him! He's just trying to throw you off!"

It only took three hits for the guy to go down cold. Amajiki put his chicken foot on the guy's back. Amajiki is so strong.

The crowd cheered behind us, but I felt pretty bad since I didn't do anything. Then I heard the cocking of a gun. Fat Gum noticed and screamed, "HE'S GOT A GUN! GET DOWN-."

The bullet fired, and in an instant, it hit Amajiki. He shot two more bullets. But I moved out of the way while the other bound off Kirishima's head. The two guys looked at us horrified, while Amajiki told us he was fine. The guy with the started running, and the other dude started zipping into an alley. Kirishima went after the gun guy while I went after speed dude.

We got pretty far into the city from the guy ended up at a dead end. I jumped on the guy and pushed him down to the floor. The guy below me started yelling, "This is bullsh*t! Why the hell did you get such a good quirk."

"Why the hell are you complaining about that?"

"What do you mean! It's so unfair how you get treated as above everyone because of your quirk. While people like me have to deal with sh*tty quirks. The only thing I can do is run faster than most people." Then a sharp pain hit my leg. Looking down, I saw the guy shoving a small needle into my skin. The guy shoved me off of him and ran further into the dead end.

I got up and tried to teleport back on top of him, but I couldn't. My quirk wasn't working. What the f*ck?

The villain smiled, "HA! How does it feel to normal!" What!? HOW! AAAHHH! IS THIS FOREVER!? FDBINGJKKABG!

Then the guy ran at me. He punched me hard in the gut while running around me. He continued to hit me as he ran around the alley and laughed at me. "Poor 'hero'. You're not actually a hero. You're just a kid. A stupid pathetic kid," He mocked.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw people staring in fear.

I can't let those people get hurt. I need to do something! Then I noticed some junk on the ground: wood, nails, rope, bags of concert, bricks, and pieces of steel pipes.

The guy shoved me onto the ground getting me closer to the materials. Scrambling over, I grabbed one of the pipes and flung it into the guy's knee. He landed face-first onto the ground with a hard thud. Grabbing the rope, I tied the rope around his legs.

I did it! I stopped at villain! A rush of adrenaline ran through me as I mentally congratulated myself. Bring up onto his feet, I held his arm as he shuffled out of the alley. Passing by, the people praised me, but that didn't matter that much.

Entering back into the main street, I saw Fat Gum handing the other guy to the police. Amajiki and Kirishima noticed me and ran over.

"Are you okay (Y/n)? You ran so fast that we couldn't keep up," Kirishima asked.

"Yeah, I caught this guy, but he hit me with something-."

"Hit you? With what? Are you okay? Are you bleeding?"

"I'm fine. It's bleeding a little, but I'll be fine, but my quirk isn't working."

"Really? Just like you, Amajiki."

The police ran over and took the guy from me. Fat Gum was talking to the police about the bullet that hit Amajiki. They here that I got hit with the same thing, and they ran over to the alley to get more information about the bullet.

We got taken to the hospital to make sure none of us had any serious damage. We were all fine, thankfully, but I had to get my leg wrapped up. We meet back up with Fat Gum in front of the hospital. Fat Gum smiled at us, "I'm so proud of you guys! You did awesomely!"

Kirishima and I thanked him while Amajiki looked at the floor. Fat Gum looked at his phone, "Next time we'll meet, it's not going to be at my agency. I'll send you the address later."

"Why?" I asked.

"We got a request to team up."

"Team up?" Kirishima asked.

"We'll be working with other hero agencies on a job," Amajiki said.

With that, Fat Gum left, and we headed back to the dorms with the police to watch us. Kirishima and I talked about what happened to both of us on the ride. While Amajiki added every once and a while.

Kirishima and I got to the dorms at around 1:30 am, and we both ran up to our rooms. I quickly changed and jumped onto my bed. While I fell asleep, all I could think about was that I actually stopped a villain. I'm becoming a real hero!
