Chapter 9 - Entrance Exam

I teleported into the city far ahead of everyone else. Looked up I saw a one-point robot. Teleported behind it so that I was in its blind spot and I noticed something.

There was a switch on its back.

Teleporting onto it's back I flipped the switch and suddenly the robot shut down. I smile to myself realizing this is going to be easier then I thought.

I teleported further into the city and started to take out some more of the robots. At this point I twenty-five points I teleported to the top of one of the buildings and looked around. The girl that Midoryia was trying to talk to earlier was helping some people trapped under a robot. That eyebrow eye was power kicking most of the robots. And Midoryia was behind everyone else and looking like he was on the verge of crying. 

Then the ground started shaking violently and some of the buildings started to crumble. Every examine looks over and sees a giant robot looming over the arena. As I continued to look at this hulking robot I remember that design. I saw it when Present Mic was talking about the robots in the exam. It was the zero pointers. This seems like overkill. I was about to just teleport away and continue to get points. Before I could go, I saw the girl from before trapped under a robot. Poor girl but I have to get more points. However, I was thrown completely off guard when I saw Midoryia. 

Previously he was afraid on the floor crying but then he noticed her and his mood changed. Now he got up off the ground and started running towards the robot. He squatted down then propelled himself into the air and punched the robot destroying it in one punch. What? What is he doing? It's worth zero points so why would he defeat it. I looked down at the girl then and this feeling that I need to help hit me. So I teleported down to the girl and grabbed her shoulder and teleported her over to the sidewalk. As I put her down we made contact and her face went red. I looked up and I saw that Midoryia was starting to fall. His legs and one of his arms were flailing in the wind. Clearly, his arms are broken and if I didn't do something then he would end up as a pancake. I teleported into the air and grabbed him and he looked surprised. We teleported to the ground and landed safely on the ground.

When we reached the ground the both of us were on your sides. I sat up and looked back at Midoryia how was trying to move, "What are you doing? Your hurt! You need to rest!".

"I need to get at least one point".

"And that's it. TIMES UP!". Present Mic screams.

Everyone around us was talking about how powerful that attack was but how he definitely was not going to pass with zero points. I looked down at Midoryia's with shock. Why? If you knew you didn't have any points. Then why you would sacrifice yourself to help someone you don't even know.

As I sat on the ground a small lady walked over to us. "Very nice! Good work all around! Your heroes in my eyes, every one of you", she called out and gave a boy some gummy bears.

All the examinees looked at this little old lady confused until this one boy said, "That mademoiselle is the heart of UA".

She walked over to Midoryia and me, "Oh my goodness, you were hurt this badly by your own quirk sonny". Then she leans down and kissed his head which made everyone look on with shock, "Give me some sugar".

"What is she doing".

"Your watching a school nurse in action. The youthful heroine recovery girl. Her quirk is a tre awesome boost of healing power. She is the only reason UA can hold these reckless exams". Midoryia's body started to glow and his legs and arms were rapidly healing in front of us, "look she saving him months of recovery time".

"Alright you'll be fine now. Anyone else injured?".

As she walked away and Midoryia got off the ground and he looked over at me, "Thanks so much for saving me. I really owe you".

"Of course and can I ask you a question".

"Oh, yeah! What is it?".

"Why did you save that girl if you knew you didn't have any points".

He awkwardly shuffled, "I don't really know. My legs just started to move on their own". After that, he waved at me and started to walk over to the changing room.

I got up off the ground and started to walk over to the changing room. But my mind was racing as a feeling of guilt filled my stomach. I got dressed and was about to head out with Bakugo but my heart wouldn't let me. So I said that I left something behind and that he should go on without me. He walked away and I headed inside the school building. Why am I doing this? I don't know what I'm doing? I should just leave him but there's something inside screaming at me that he deserves to be here more than me. Even though this could make my mission harder I could just give him some of my points. Stupid feelings. Why must I be so empathetic?

I stepped inside the school and walked over to the teacher's lounge(that took me too long to find). Inside I saw Present Mic and walked over to him. "Excuse me sir, but can I talk to you for a sec".

"Sure listener, What do you need".

"You remember the guy that defeated the zero point robot, I want to give him some of my points. He said that he didn't have any points but he defeated that robot all one his own. He saved that one girl with brown hair, so please can you give him some of my points".

Present Mic laughed and patted my head, "Thanks for showing up to the station with your request. The kid is charting well on his own. Now you show go head home now".

What did he mean 'charting well on his own'. Did the exam have some other way of getting points? I left the room and teleported home. Landing on the couch I just sat there thinking.

When I was interrupted by something brushing my leg. "Ruff!", barked Milo.

"Hello Milo", I picked him up and he licked my face, "I think I did well today but I feel like I did pretty bad on the written part". He gave me a caring look and snuggled closer to me. Just then I got a text. Looking at my phone I saw it was from Todoroki.

Todoroki: how did your exam good

(Y/n): Good. What did you have to do for your exam? We had to fight robots

Todoroki: Sounds a lot more interesting then what I did. We had a race

(Y/n): WHAT!

Todoroki: Yeah. What is it?

(Y/n): I could have won that race!

Todoroki: Then why didn't your dad recommend you?

(Y/n): Because he said that I don't need a recommendation because I could do well on the normal exam

Todoroki: I have to go. My dad is yelling at me

(Y/n): You're choosing him over me

Todoroki: I would happily talk to you over having to see my father. Bye

(Y/n): Later
