ANGIE

"Please tell me why I have to learn how to graph a polynomial function?" I groaned, tossing my head back against the booth.
"I want to know why the hell my dance team chose to spring an entire performance on me," Kiko said from her spot next to the table. She had one earbud in, her uniform in disarray as she marked her dance moves. "You'd think they'd know how hard it is to choreograph a routine."
Mickey's had become a regular spot for our band of misfits. Usually, it'd be relatively empty but today, as the kitchen was open, there were loads of Richmond kids scattered about.
I didn't mind it, I knew they'd all be gone soon and the five of us would be here well into the night. From the food to the ambience to the neon decor, Mickey's was perfect.
"To answer your question Angie, heaven alone knows why we have to learn that shit," Brady said, sporting the other side of Kiko's earbuds and looking similarly dishevelled as he danced beside her.
Of course, it was hard to look completely dishevelled in a uniform as prestigious as Richmond's.
Zack was on his computer and cameras, editing and developing his photographs, Kiko had roped Brady into helping her choreograph, I was trying to finish my algebra homework and Oliver was aggressively tapping away at his phone.
Originally, Oliver and I were going to come here for a tutor session but the moment I mentioned the word 'Mickey's', everyone invited themselves.
Usually, I wouldn't mind because I love hanging out with my friends. But my homework was due tomorrow and I still hadn't told them that Oliver tutored me, so I was placed in a bit of a predicament.
And Oliver refused to let me live it down. He didn't understand why I refused to tell them, not to any fault of his. I wasn't willing to admit my stupidity to anyone so he was still in the dark when it came to my true reasoning.
